NSA is not a federal criminal agency, but an intelligence agency. To do what they've done and be able to criminally prosecute and have it stand in eyes of the international community, they had to gather evidence the right way and through the right procedure so it can stand in criminal court.

Might want to read this. http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/27/us/fifa-corruption-investigation-why/index.html

Of course they cant simply prosecute someone by informations they have gathered by controversial wiring and hacking, but as far as i know the US can just come up with several sort of "reasons" that would make Blatter look suspicious (or possible plant something on Blatter) and then denounce him that way and get access to stuff that they normally wouldnt be allowed to examine. I personally do not know that much about intelligence agency work and what methods they would use, but the US got through with other stuff. I'm just saying I strongly believe that if the WC would really be THAT much of a thorn in their flesh then they would surely come up with something better than just arresting some more or less relevant FIFA functioneers. Its all jsut speculation, but Blatter would probably not last a day in his job if he was a real problem.

Things don't work that way. This is a criminal proceeding not an intelligence gathering or espionage. You can't conduct criminal prosecution that way, specially one as delicate as this considering the magnitude and the fact it involves international entities and international defendants.

They've done things with preparation and very methodical to ensure no mistakes, and suffice it to say the cooperation and help from the Swiss government and their authorities was exceedingly important.

I never said that things would officially work that way and that this would be perfectly legal. I meant the actual opposite. What does not fit, is made to fit. It would be a bit naive to think that everyone in this world is strictly going by the rules and is acting completely transparent. Creating reasonable suspicion by falsely attributing evidence is not something extremely uncommon after all.

rofl, i think fifa doesn't have to cooperate much once its members are out.

Fifa really is a mafia. Cutting off loose ends and woe to them should they turn against the family

 FIFA officially provisionally bans all its members that were indicted today.

Offcial statement from UEFA regarding FIFA indictments.

This is the same guy (Eckert), who decided there wasn't enough evidence in Garcia's report to warrant further action right ?

Talk about closing the stable door, once the horse has bolted !

Guessing they will implode over the next couple of days, they obviously know the game is up.

Is this true? Just goes to show how horrible these oil-dictatorships really are.[/quote]

Yeah I just finished watching Spartacus and was thankful that slavery is not present in the modern era. Then I remembered Qatar......
