You're giving me Euro 2008 which was 5 years ago, so doesn't count for over an year.
An example: Europe ( UEFA ) has a value of 1.00 ( North America has 0.88 for example ). Switzerland plays San Marino in the qualifiers and wins. It's 3 points, that's x2.5 because it's a FIFA/UEFA Qualifying. That's 7.5, but let's say San marino si ranked 150th or under, so It's 200-150 divided by 100, that's 0.5 so now it's 3.75 points, but that's only for 1 year, after 1 year it's valued at 50%, in the 3rd year 33% and in the final year at 25%. Multiply by 100 to get the ranking points, so it's 375.
But if Ireland plays Germany and wins, int he same qualifiers, the score is not 0.5 at the ranking calculations, it' 1.98 so it's 1.00(UEFA)x1.98(instead of 0.5)x2.5(competition importance=WC/Euro qualifer)x3 for the win = 14.85 points x 100 = 1485 points. You have divide all points in the year by how many games you played. So if you have 1485 + 0 ( because you lost a game ) + 495 ( after a draw with Germany, let's say ) + 375 + 375 ( for beating Marino ) you have 546 points which in 1 year. So meh for the victories with San Marino.
