Maybe a lot of Argentinian still hail Diego, but many of them know he is a stupid little peasant with no education and a troublemaker in general, unpredictable person. Their big mistake is that they let him coach the team back in 2010, just because he is Maradona, they learned their lesson at least at the cost of an eventual title :messi:. Messi is totally different kind of person, he's defect seems to be only that he is lazy.

Back on topic: do you guys have any idea who the brazilian fans will support in the final ? I'm thinking the germans, but I'm not sure

Brazilians hate Argentina when it comes to football (not only in that matter actually) and the Argentinians hate them back with a passion. The answer to your question is rather obvious, I'm afraid.

Yeah, and tomorrow Santa Clause brings you presents. :)
Ask Flavia then. She has supported Argentina the whole tournament. Don't think it's far-fetched to assume there are some Brazilians who'd prefer Argentina to win it, especially at the moment for political reasons (would be more of a humiliation for the CBF than Germany winning it), even if they're not the majority.

i guess flavia is a fake brazilian then ryu
my question is directed towards people who have actual knowledge of brazil, be they brazilians, south americans or just knowledgeable about it

Okay, I ofc don't deny that there ARE Brazilians who would like to see Argentina winning, but to think it's a matter for debate whether Germany will basically have an actual match at home, because the Brazilians in the stadium are undecided, is at least to my mind beyond delusional.

A hardcore Brazilian fan who actually is Brazilian and supports Argentina now that Brazil is out of the tourney while Argentina can win it IN Brazil is as likely as a German supporting the British or the other way around. Not impossible, but sure as shit not likely.

And I know, they are biased, because they live in Germany, but I know two Brazilians as well, who now support Germany. However, I can say they not only do so because they live in Germany, but because they actually cherish that wel-known rivalry between Brazil and Argentina.

A lot of people are selling their tickets, though. I won't say it's 50-50, more like 70-30 for Germany. My family has always been pro-argentina (my mom loves maradona), and among my friends is split. Barça has a lot of fans here, and these will probably support Messi and Masch. The neymarzete's will too now, after Neymar's speech last night
Inside the stadium, it will depend on how many people sell their tickets.

The notion of hate is so wrong, though. Just ask people who live near argentina, in porto alegre and other cities. I've been in buenos aires, and when they find out you're brazilian, they are extra caring and nice.

thanks for the insight, that's what i wanted to know, i was always a bit dubious about how hyped the argentina-brazil hate seems to be, at least in western europe. Glad to hear it's not that bad, at least not everywhere

I should have used "rivalry" instead of "hate" more often ;)

That is more due to maradona - pele debate than anything else. More media created than real, imo. The worst sa rival is uruguay to me, and for a lot of people too. The games are always more disputed and violent, and there's 1950. It's just not as markeatable.
