Financial Fair Play (News, debates, opinions, Platini, etc.)

Great, seems like it was even done for me (creating a new thread and even moving the respective postings). Good to have capable mods.

I don't want members to leave over a stupid argument regarding the corrupted institutions that UEFA and FIFA are.

Let's all cool down.

We can all agree to disagree on how FFP should be. But what we should always remember is that FFP is run by UEFA, and UEFA is no better than FIFA.

Therefore don't expect FFP to be run like it should.

Gonna add my tribute to the debate:

- The FFP didn't stop prices to raise so far. And nothing indicates it will stop. Players that would have been sold for 15 millions max a few years ago now are sold at least 25M if not 30M.

- Even when they just have 1 year left on their contract, they are sold for a fortune. Example: Dybala.

That's because FFP didn't have any major impact at all. This was perhaps one of Platini's better ideas since all his ideas suck, but he failed to implement even this one right.

The FFP can exist, but won't stop for example those new deals like the EPL new TV rights that will also participate to those price tags increases.

And soon, an EPL club from middle table will be able to spend more than PSG every summer, and more than almost any average clubs from the other big leagues. To me it doesn't sound right.

It can exist if they do it right. A slap on the wrist with a fine + spending + salary cap won't do much if you simply can sell all the players you don't need and splash the money big again.

To be fair to all clubs then, the FFP also needs to punish those who spent without counting way before the FFp was created.

Chelsea for example had more time to forge their club than PSG. Yet is not punished for what they have done in the past. And in the past they did things way worse than PSG.

It's too easy to say "punish the new ones, and let those who arrived just before go for free as if they did nothing wrong".

Yes, I agree.

Reducing the restrictions? Lol, so much for FFP. Plus, punishments should dock points depending on severity, tbh. Fining a team and they don't even have to pay it all up front is extremely weak. Make it a punishment, not a slap on the wrist.

Be fair to all clubs from the inception of FFP onward.

Sounds like you want them to drown Chelsea.

Why would I be upset? Sanctions are bout to be relaxed and my club will ball out. Good times.

Plus, Paris eliminated Chelsea from the UCL through FFP. Better times.

Yes. More Ligue 1 titles to look forward to for the next decade.
