Vilanova: "It has been a good season. If you're not happy with 100 points, 115 goals, leaders from start to finish..." #fcblive

lolz owned.

Nonsense. Even if we won every game where Messi wasn't available doesn't mean that we could win La Liga without Messi. He's the one who brought Barca the lead, the rest did a good job keeping it (most of it) in the last several games of the season.

>Get shit on by Bayern to suffer the worst CL semi defeat ever
>Claim it's been a good season and that fans should be happy with it.

His press conferences make me even more convinced that he needs to go. Didn't he blame the ref for the 2-1 league loss to RM? We should have got a penalty, but we needed Ramos to gift us a penalty to get a draw against RM's bench...

And he's blamed injuries and fatigue as well. Both his fault for shit rotation. Tbh, he's starting to sound like Mou (blaming refs, etc)

No, it was the whole team that brought the lead, Messi was just an important part of it. The likes of Iniesta and Xavi are some of the all time greats, it's disrespectful to say it's all down to Messi. It's also baseless and pure guesswork that lacks any evidence whatsoever. They might have struggled but you can't know that really. They've won 6/6 without Messi so the evidence suggests they'd do well. They might even have done better, who knows, maybe they might have done better in the Clasicos without Messi.

Without Messi: Barca 1-3 PSG
With Messi/injured Messi: Barca 2-0 PSG

With injured Messi: Barca 0-4 Bayern
Without Messi: Barca 0-3 Bayern

Without Messi: Barca 0-1 Bilbao
With Messi: Barca 2-1 Bilbao

These teams were the ones that play the most similar to Madrid. You really believe Barca would've done better without Messi in the Clasicos?

Do you have the stats on the games where Messi didn't play? Because from what I can remember, Barca pretty much won every game where Messi wasn't available.
Which games did Barca win? Relegated Mallorca, relegated Zaragoza, Levante 1-0, and coasted the rest of the season with fresh legs when they played only 1 game per week against Valladolid 2-1, Espanyol 2-0 and Malaga who didn't even try to defend. Amazing performance. These games Messi would have probably scored 10-15 goals.

This season was Messi's "Napoli" moment, and he was actually close of doing it last season already.

Well, they couldn't have done much worse. They only managed to get 1 point and if you want to include cup games got knocked out twice by them. I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but having a false 9 that works hard offers a different dynamic, which could lead to different results.

Also your examples are kinda ridiculous. PSG came to the Camp Nou and attacked, Bayern play good possession football and Bilbao also try to press.

6 games is still alot. Also consider they were already winning against Depor 1-0 when Messi came on, they won away to Atletico after Messi was injured. Against Betis they were dominating and had just equalised when Messi came on. It's easy to complain, how about you give some substance and give a list of which teams you think Barca would struggle against if they didn't have Messi?

So you actually think Madrid don't press and play like Bayern and PSG?

All 3 teams base their games on compressing the area between the forward line and defence. They defend in zones - their forwards will press when Barca is in their own half. Near the midfield area, they send one person to press and form a bank of players behind to cut off passing options. As Barca reach closer to their defence, their defending becomes more last ditch.
