Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

Does it look like this unique generation of players can be used as a guinea pig, something Tito can experiment on so that he can finally become a good coach? Pep won 7/7 titles in his first year at Barca. Tito was 1/4. When you coach Barca you either deliver or you pack your things and go somewere else.

I can't believe what I'm reading.
If you expect 6 titles in one season in a coach's first season or any season really , you're just a spoiled glory hunter. That was the best season in history, and Pep was great and all that. But if you think every coach has to do it in order to continue coaching Barca , you're deluded. You should be the one to pack your bags and become a 'fan' of another club who change their coaches based on shit like that.

Tito won the league with record points, nobody cares if it's because Madrid fucked up, or whatever , well guess what? They did and we didn't ( fuck up I mean).
We still took home the league trophy.
The 7-0 was painful, yes but don't ostracize the coach like that.
People like you would never have gotten through the awful periods Barca experienced with no silverware , no nothing.
You should take a fucking seat.

I dont trust tottaly Tito,he continues always with the same tactics.Rosel and Zubizareta didnt even bother of looking of a real manager with the fear of changing the style and tactics...The matter of fact is that this system may not be succesful anymore,Bayern and other teams have learned how to deal with it.He didnt have any new idea against Bayern or Milan and we continued getting embarassed with just passing around

But it isn't the same system without one key component. If you don't do pressing anymore, than you're not doing Pep's tiki-taka style of 2009-2012. In fact, when we did do consistent ant collective pressing, we won 4-0. In my mind, Tito's main weakness, and it's a big one, it's that with him the team lost it's vigour and probably the key element that made Pep's barca a force. We are and we will always be exposed as long as we don't press.

i agree with those who said tito almost always used the same tactics, which would have me beating my head against the wall with frustration, their is a few games he did something differently but most times the same thing he does against celta he does against real, because to him their is no difference between the two or our players are so awesome their awesomeness will allow them to win by just walking on the pitch.

its like he wasn't there with pep for years who would always say we can't play the same way against the best teams as we do against most teams in la liga, which is way he tries so many different things whether they end up working are not

You are talking about the leauge that almost all teams are weak, you cant compare it with big clubs. We've been very good at the first half of the season and Madrid struggled at this period so we got a big advantage in points..The 100 points you say werent really necessary to get them as we already won the leauge before it,Tito instead of giving time to the youngsters playing every available first team player to win those 100 unneeded points and antagonize Madrid.

And really big games and especially the Bayern games show clearly that Tito doesnt have a clue of dealing with hard and different times.Against Bayern he didnt have any new idea of how we do something than passing the ball around.Against Milan the same, they played total defense and we continued doing the same,we barely created chances.
If you dont know how to deal against strong sides its tottaly different of winning the weak La liga sides..
At least even if we lost we should lose fighting and trying to get even one goal. They dominated us tottaly, and even more without Messi that we depend everything from him we couldnt do anything..that clearly shows that he doesnt have a plan to go out and without Messi

"When I was in New York, Pep visited me for two days," Vilanova told a press conference on Tuesday.
"He is my friend and I need him close to me. But after the surgery and duirng the two months recovery period he did not visit me any more. I expected more from him. He acts like that.

Interesting how some twitter accounts conveniently avoided publishing any translations that reflect Pep in a bad light.

I don't expect anything. I just posted a fact. Tito won 1/4 out of the trophies he was in for with a team that is more than capable to do better. And it wasn't about bad luck or anything. He showed that coaching Barca is a job he can't hadle.

he almost always had the two fullbacks fit plus at least one of the 3 cb.

pep won the league and cl with almost the same issues at the back.

but enough of comparing the two thus far tito haven't earn that.

but if you lose 7 nil then on top of that blame fatigue ignoring your the one that basically used the same xi for months, you should get the sack.

He shouldn't get the sack, he did a very good job last season.

Pep got pretty lucky when we won the Champions League, would we have gotten through against Chelsea in 2009 or Madrid in 2011 without a fit Messi, Xavi or Busquets? Without Puyol or Masch? No way. Chelsea were the better team in London and we were lucky in the end and against Real it was stalemate until Pepe got sent off and without Messi we would have struggled to score.

If Barca in 09 or 11 had the injuries we had this season then we would have lost those Semi finals as well. And Chelsea nor Real were as good as Bayern, and in those games we got the decisions and against Bayern we did not. Tito could have done better but he did not get the rub of the green that Pep did.

Isn't the signing of Rubi the new assistant is suppose to bring in tactical input for the team this season?

Yes, this shows that Tito is changing and bringing in people with new ideas which is a good sign, and I heard he specializes in set pieces which has been a major weakness of ours for years. One which Bayern took advantage of.

I can't believe what I'm reading.

Dude, I'm not arguing with you about whether you think he's a good coach or not. You have arguments, and opinions okay,to each their own.
I, personnally , give him another season before judging his capability. I was mainly commenting what this guy here said :

What kind of argument is that? Pep won all the titles in his first season and Tito only won the league. So let's sacK him.
Seriously?

But I thought it was all Rosell's fault and Pep and Tito are actually best buddies and Rosell was just spreading lies to attack Pep.

f your friend is suffering from cancer he will need people around him especially if he is in a foreign country. To not visit him in 2 months is bad form.

Pep was a winner in the true sense of the word. He imposed his style and made though decision that in the end payed off. When he lost, he lost the right way, playing top quality football. Matches like Inter 1-0, and Chelsea 2-2, make me proud to be a Barcelona fan, even though they turned out to be sad (about the glory hunter BS). Tito, so far, is playing the dead man's hand. How you play is more important than winning or losing.
