Generally you are inside my opinion but i have to point out.Against Chelsea in 2009 we won with a goal in 93,Still if we didnt win CL it wouldnt be an unsuccesfull season cause we played some real great football. And generally all the years with Pep the team showed fighting spirit to win. With Tito its all different,we didnt only give up early but we didnt even try to get something from the first game against Bayern. And thats Mostly Titos fault of failing to having other ideas..either he was blind or he didnt want to understand that they blocked us playing the same old tactics and the only thing we could do its just pass and pass and pass with no purpose
Yes, I agree. When Pep left, Tito was named to ressurect the team, to bring back that desire to win wich was starting to fade after three years of immense success (2009-2011). He didn't manage do to that. When the game got tough we collapsed. A mediocre Barcelona can beat almost every team in La Liga without problems. In Champions League and in clasicos you see the real strenght of the team.
I applaud Tito because Barca didn't waste points last season. As far as consistency against weak to medium teams (even good teams) is concerned, we always got the job done last season. But when we had to bring our A game to the table, when we faced real, top-class sides, we seldom looked good. That is the main issue with T. Vilanova's Barca.
This season, I expect the clasicos to pretty much decide the champion. Let's see how Tito can handle the pressure. Last year, the highest pressure was in the cups: Champions League, Copa del Rey and even the Supercup. He did badly.
