This sucks, the guy either waited too long to get treatment or was overstressed through work which didn't at all help his recovery. A 45 year old athlete shouldn't die of thyroid cancer .

I think it wasparotid gland cancer... not that it makes muchdifference, I don't know. It might have been very aggresive or caught up late... this disease is the worst
