Same 2 names are now being mentioned in Catalan press as the ones to choose from this summer. Reportedly, Pep would prefer Ribery.
That's because he has seen first hand the threat Ribery posed his team over both legs even when the rest of his teammates were shite and anonymous. Both Puyol and dani were having a hard time keeping up with him. Despite our efforts, he still managed to get on the scoresheet in the away leg.
Can Silva do the same to the best club in the world on his own?
Ribery was always my preferred choice. But after the recent developments i'm not sure.
Both are injury prone and versatile but Ribery is more of a goal threat and direct than Silva. Silva, on the other hand is younger & Spanish with good rapport with our catalan contigent and links really well with Iniesta as we've come to see for Spain. He also is more likeable and has a better attitude on & off the pitch. He even prefers Barca over Madrid from his interview 2years ago...(dunno if he has changed his stance on that
)
Really, both 've their pros and cons. And, it's up to Pep to decide. I'll be happy with either. Villa is still my first choice but it's becoming very apparent that he doesn't figure in Pep's plans anymore.
I'll be closely watching both in the WC.
