Tbf I didn't get that point either. Ok, it explains why Ribery wasn't the most important attacking player in those games where had to track back and support the midfield. But doesn't that mean that his importance is linked to what role he plays in the team, that he is so dominant in other games because of he role he usually plays? And couldn't this mean that potentially Müller could be just as important if he replaced Ribery/played in his role more? Because Bayern still performed in those games and Muller's contribution was not worse than Ribery's in his 'normal' games. (I'm not trying to make a case for Muller as I don't rate him that much, just don't understand the logic).
