If he hasn't renewed his contract by February/March or agreed to leave next summer by then, they need to grow a pair and take a stand.

Bench him and play others. He can rot on the bench the last 14-15 months of his contract until he gets tired of it and gets desperate to leave.

I personally wouldn't renew him unless he improves a lot, but who knows what this club will do.

We've been in Europa League not once but twice with Ter Stegen
He has 0% fault for this. One of these two seasons was 22/23 when you won the league and he won player of the season award with numerous crucial saves for your 1-0 wins. He was the best goalkeeper in the world that season.

Mats is not your best player, but the most important, because the quality of your team drops massively if he is not on the pitch. There is no big team in the world with so bad second choice GK as Pena.

No one is saying we should sell ter Stegen to start Inaki Pena you genius.
Point would be signing a replacement that hopefully doesn't shit his pants most of the time in Europe. Hopefully next summer.

So your suggestion for Barca board next summer is to spend the little money they have for a replacement of one of the 3/4 world class players in your squad. Not for a striker to replace 40 years old Lewa, not for DM, not for LW, not for RB? Sounds smart

If you're part of the team that got grouped twice in the Champions League which is unacceptable for Barca's standard, then you absolutely can't say that he's 0% fault in this.

This club has bigger issue to deal with like LW and DM, but nobody should be untouchable at this club and if there is a better option to upgrade, go for it.

Not to mention FDJ is directly in the way of developing Gavi in that all action role as part of the double pivot.

Very unprofessional if true, he had more than 3 months for vacations. He should be doing everything possible to return soon, like Gavi.

He's a little girlie boy, the fan base is finally coming around to it.

Gavi is a lion, the real heart and soul of the team, no comparison really.

This season he as absolutely no excuses, double pivot is the only system, he's remotely consistently decent in, if he's not the best midfielder by a mile at the club by the end of the season, fans should burn down his house.

Is there concrete info about his injury - what exactly is the injury and how long it will take for
him to be available? Its very strange that he is not with your other injured players in Barcelona. I remember there was hope for him to even play in the EUROs

Gavi is nowhere near the player FDJ is.

FDJ was much better midfielder further forward than Gavi was also so far and was Barcas best player there after Messi in his last season.

It took the change of formation under Xavi in the title win season to get likes of Gavi back in the team as FDJ was clearly ahead of him once they realised couldnt push out.

Double pivot.. if he is the one with more freedom is his best position.. if sticking deeper in a two not so much.. but even then he is better than Pedri, Gavi and Gundo sitting so is the one picked to do it.

He was one of our best players during 2022/23, when he played in a double pivot next to Busi. He is a system player, he emerged on the biggest stage at Ajax in a double pivot next to Schöne too.

He would do very well Flicks 4-2-3-1. But if we could sell him and can get good money for him I’d sell and bring in Zubimendi.
