Take a look at this video another user sent me. It’s from before the ankle injury in February 2018 which kept him out until August 2018. He has lost mobility and speed since then, Frenkie used to be a way better dribbler and ball carrier than this and last year.

Unfortunately ankle injuries can be stubborn and especially grade 3 and I believe he will never regain that mobility and speed. He will still be elite but due to the ball carrying and dribbling in his first Ajax years he was compared to Iniesta/Cruyff.

For us who has been following de Jong for long knows he can be way better than what he has shown so far but ankles are a bitch
