Very good performance, but nowhere near what he can give at his best in a good system. Can't wait to see him and Arthur under a proper manager who won't allow the forwards to sleep on their feet.

His performances are under what he gave for Ajax. It says everything when a player performs better playing for Ajax than for Barcelona.

In yesterday’s game for Netherlands, he was man marked the whole game. The only other time I have seen this strategy is against Messi. Truly remarkable his influence in a game that the opposing manager choose this strategy. Best in the World.

The most extreme case of this I've ever seen is Xavi vs Almeria. He was being man marked even when they had the ball lol.

He was somewhat man-marked against Germany and Bayern last season.
He struggled in those matches.

How did he play yesterday when man-marked?
Since, managers are evolving all the time and they are copying tricks from other managers.
If he'll become a key creator for us, CL opponents will surely do the same trick on away matches.

Anyone who's man marked obviously struggles. The solution is that other players take responsibility and exploit the areas that the man marker is leaving behind.

If man marking was collectively effective more teams would use it.

 man-marking's been around since at least maradona's time if not before.

maybe if your beloved EV had some ideas to take advantage of the numerical superiority while FDJ being man marked, wouldn't that be great?

funny how you point out how other managers evolve but don't hold EV to the same standard.

Barking at the wrong tree.
