FDJ has not looked anything close to garbage at sole DM.. last game he was Barcas best player there also.

Not worth cost on books to play him there though.

He would be decent in Xavis RB/DM role reckon but same problem.. too high a cost to have him there.

Him leaving is best for both parties at moment but not to club he doesnt want to go to or if isnt prepared to give up deferred salary.

Mate have you been around the last 3 years to watch Frenkie games at Barca?

He has been terrible the few times he played sole DM.
for the 10000..th time: Frenkie can only play double pivot, which will never be employed at Barca.
END OF STORY

PS: Nico in 2 games as a single pivot looks like on a different stratosphere than Frenkie as a single pivot

Maybe Xavi can do for Nico what pep did for busquets.

I would be very very surprised if Nico turns into a good DM for us. Don't see anything special in him.

Good breaking-line vertical pass,
great control and first touch to avoid opponent,
Good orientation when on the ball to take 1-2 touch and generate a passing angle.

Progressing play from deep by positioning and passing, he is already better than Frenkie

If you think as Busquets being the model of the pivot position (and that's how Xavi thinks), Nico checks a lot of things from the list

Name a game where he played well as sole DM

Oh, BTW, never too late to collect your hot and steamy L - YET AGAIN - from last winter when you claimed Xavi would never play Nico as sole DM ahead of Frenkie...
Another Dammy Special

Never show any breaking line pass. Good dribbling ability but can he dribble like last season when he plays as a DM???

And he only plays two friendly games vs below amateur level teams.

Not even close to half of half of Frenkie.

I counted at least 8 such vertical passes in the 1st half against Miami.
Look also closely, he always has in mind the progressive forward pass when he receives, he scans, he sees, and ONLY if it's not available he passes sideways or back.

Sth similar happened vs Olot

Nothing like Frenkie, who doesn't have it in him to progress play via vertical passing. He doesn't 'see' the gaps and the angles.
Frenkie is a runner with the ball, he needs people to come press him and he releases himself forward via carrying and dribbing.
That's not what a single DM at Barca should do.

PS: Yes, it's only 2 games, we need to see him more vs good opposition, but the sings are positive, and consider that he played as pivot in Masia as well.

The vertical passes was something that certainly stood out in that friendly. Something that has been an emphasis in training for sure, and something that is more natural to him to do unlike Frenkie.

Eager to see how he performs versus Madrid and Juve.

Also curious to see how our best RB Marc Casado plays.

Lies... you said Xavi would prefer Nico or Garica last season and I said he hadnt and FDJ had played there which was backed up by facts then and also later in season when he chose FDJ to play there.

You claimed Xavi lastr season would play Eric at DM ahead of FDJ you numpty.

FDJ was the one picked to play DM when Busi not there.. fact.

Birdy ...I bet if Busi becomes unavailable Xavi would play Nico there or even Eric Garcia, than Frenkie.

Proven as false when Xavi chose FDJ.

Maybe one day you will get a W. Not on this one.

Have always said Barca wont/shouldnt keep FDJ as sole DM as cost too high on books for that.

You were schooled then as always.

Like i said, surround him with players that can play in mf like ancient one is surrounded with fdj and pedri. Dont put lenglet behind his back. How many games did frenkie play at dm? And what was the line up? It was atrocious i'd say it to you in case you didnt watch barca past 3 years.
