There you go. The amounts he will be 'rewarded' with for being kind to Bartomeu in 2020 are probably enormous. Add those up and you easily get to 331 that they said.

Take them to court is the only option.

He will earn what he's due. He got paid 16M less in the last 2 years, and now he will get them in the 4 next years (extra 4M/year). It's a big amount, and he was already on 14M/year which is high, but let's not act that he fucked the club over and took all the money. He just deferred payments, nothing else. If the contract was rich from the beginning, that's one thing, but people are getting at Frenkie's neck like he doubled his salary every year.

Trust people to spin things so they don't have to pay, they should pay him what he's due, plus deferred, and then sell him if they want to.

How about we deal with these sort of things internally for once? Every single detail about every single matter comes out through the press, and it's rarely making us look good.

The report itself says we talked to him over 3 weeks ago.
Seems like we have done internal talk, then now is the time to go full public

Few things.
1-It is already confirmed by many journalists that legally Frenkie signed a new contract with new wage structure. That means that there is no deferred wage from legal standpoint, even if in realityit was.
If he retires today he doesn't earn this money, unlike Busquets situation for example who deferred salary (he still earns money after he retires or leave in 2023). That is important distinction.

2-There are conflicting reports about his salary and the whole new agreed wage.
Yesterday there is a reports that says 4 players took a total of 18M paycut, but the renewal was worth of 311M of additional money on the club. (additional salaries and years)
That isn't a "club doesn't want to pay Frenkie 18M" theory at all.
If anything, if we want Frenkie's new contract voided, and he is owned 18M from past year, this means that now we actually own him money for past years and not vice versa.

Unlike the new contract, if Frenkie stop playing today he can get his money with immediate effect.
But such reports says new contract is simply outrageous, not because of 18M,but because of additional years and salary.

So it depends on which reports you believe, but in both cases club actually has a point, and so does the player.

So this. And in regards to Pique in particular with the 80m figure from before, does it mean that that figure is infact not deferred but the delayed wage increase? So when he showed a screenshot of his salary it was technically true but not honest with this pay increase due in a few years.

Or has he deferred with this board (the board where Alemany has said that deferrments are the worst thing to happen to the club and won't happen ever again) on top of the delayed wage increase from the last Bartomeu contract renewal?

It is a big sticky mess that the real details are blended in with alot of fake news. Really hard to take any complete truth from this all. But how come this is only coming to light right now? I know Laporta alluded to previously that Bartomeu structured the contracts that the wage increased the longer the contract ran (Griezmann similar to de Jong) but it was never really a media problem with de Jong and Stegen until yesterday.

But it appears that Bartomeu in a last minute desperation move, without a regard for the future offered the players a pay cut for 1 year with a snowballing pay increase a few years down the line. Horrible. Can only imagine what this guy done for Messi.

His initial contract was until 2024, not 2026, so he gets another 2 extra years of an inflated contract, which is a lot. Did his initial contract include those "loyalty bonuses" too?

That in the case that the table above is legit.

Barca wants him to get back to contract pre 2020 extension, WHILE paying what he's owed that was deferred. That's pretty clear.

What the fuck is that 10m bonus in 2024? That's another very good yearly wage in itself. There are top class players out there who are on 10m a year.

If you notice closely, Dembele had a delayed start but still managed to catch up with FdJ, and it didn't look he was trying too hard either. A lazy sprint from Demb?le.

They should tell us what the "signs of criminality" are

Handing out huge contracts with inflated salaries and bonuses over many years is certainly stupid, but not criminal

You're welcome

I had the exact same observation as you. Seems Dembele just wanted to match Frenkie's speed but could have gone faster.
