FDJ is miles ahead Busquets for the modern game but still is not what we thought. Like a heavily discounted (like 90% off) KDB.
Still should play 100% over Busi. Actually anyone should.

There is an instance where Dembele has miles of space behind the defense, holds his line for offside and asks the ball for about 5 seconds. FDJ just can't make a pass like that and is afraid to do so. Same thing on the other side with Rafinha who got angry about it.

I agree but what are we left with?
Gavi? He is just not there yet, might never be good enough.
The fossil? He should never play again.
Kessie? Not much better than FDJ, imo worse.

So we are left with 1 decent midfielder in Pedri, who is still 19 and in no way shape or form should be the expected to lead the mf of Barca.
We are stuck with FDJ.

Did not add much in offense and was a liability in defense.

May he will have some decent games at the WC then we could sell him for some monies.

De Jong gets a lot of plaudits simply because he's not Busquets but he's also limited in his own way.

Out of the current crop of midfielders at the club he should be playing much more though.
