Alaves coach says FDJ coming on fucked them up

For me, this is FDJ giving us 3 points

I would be fine with him replacing Casado in the next games. He's been better recently. This should be a competitive midfield with the players we have.

If FDJ doesn't impress it's no problem bringing Casado back, just do it for now.

There will be a lot of rotation in next wee while as said the other day but quite clearly FDJ is vastly superior player to Casado.

Casado has been decent. Nowhere near as good as some on here make out but better than expected but feels a bit that teams have had a look and now aiming to leave him on ball if can when Barca have it and when they have it try to set him up for physical battles.

Yeah Fdj has completely changed the dynamic, the depth we have atm in midfield is insane :attachment:

Both coaches pointed to how FDJ changed the game and how Barcelona moved it..

Although it didnt take rocket scientist to realise how Alaves were exploiting Araujo and Casado it was discussed plenty on the match chat.

Missed the most of the match but did read the praise comments. Well done then.

Suppose he is good against these type of teams. Not sure about top ones where more intensity is needed

He was needed, I am sure I mentioned this in the match chat in the 1st half - the midfield was being largely won by Alaves by flooding it with players. No connection to attack and wide players were pinned to the flanks

Here, Casado’s limitations were exposed and needed more precision in possession - it was an instant change. I am simply surprised Flick set up this way from the start when this was fairly inevitable. Perhaps Gavi‘s exit altered that strategy enough as Fermin was uninvolved

There’s a profile of midfielder needed, even more so than Frenkie as a stopgap - whether it is Bernal or anyone else, it happens whenever we face these tactics

Like I have said, when De Jong is in form he makes the difference yet I still hope he is gone in June - just needs to be upgraded

To be fair he came on at 0-0 and won the game 4-0 against Madrid too

Not first time he has got better of Real midfield in a 4-0 win there.

And 3-1 down v Benfica and won 4-5 and made a huge difference in all three games this season.

Benficas intensity was too much for likes of Gavi and Casado that game and were getting bodied/skinned.
