Lucho prefers Gameiro and he is already pissed we didn't (couldn't) get Nolito and that he lost Alves.
Barto and Robert won't go against Lucho on this one. Oh, don't forget he didn't renew like last summer so you may read something from it too.
Sampaoli already said he counts on gameiro. Only way to get him would be paying his buyout, which won't happen. Hence way names like Lucas Perez are surfacing. And if lucho isn't renewing, all the more reason for Robert to plan accordingly to what he thinks it's best for the club.

Actually it's Robert who is the one that wants Gamerio the most. and has wanted him since he was Atletico's sporting director.

Not really sure what Lucho, wants now. His main priority was Nolito but the Technical staff didn't want him so they went out the window. While Gamerio would make a great backup but the price? no way we should even be remotely considering paying what Sevilla wants.

For the money being quoted you might as well go for younger players like Vietto and Gabriel Jesus.

But in this case I think Lucho, would be alright with Gamerio if we can get him for Cheap, as we won't target anyone unless Robert and Lucho are on eye level with each other.

Everyone still hopes he will stay though and if we payed 40 for Turan we could pay the same for Gameiro (although I am certain Monchi would sell for 30).

If Lucho is staying for one more season or two there is no point for him to sign Jesus and gamble for the future.

I hate to say this, but the club needs to have a vision and long-term plan and build the squad based on that vision and plan, regardless of who the manager is. Of course the club needs to respect and often heed the wishes of the manager but it would be stupid to build a team completely based on what one manager wants and find themselves scrambling to pick themselves up once that manager leaves.

If Mr. Jesus is deemed a great talent and someone who would add a lot of value to our future down the road, the club should make that decision to sign him, regardless of what Luis Enrique thinks of him.

Good one

I agree with Jombi too. Would love to see the meltdown of Bayern fans and the Madridistas as well. Two(three) birds with one stone. :coffee:

Neys parties?

Dont mention parties and Brazilians in same sentence.

This place likely to go into meltdown.

Well, Neymar is going to spend a month with Gabriel, for the olympics. Maybe Ney'll try to convince him, by telling how nice bcn's parties are :neymar:

I am confused, who is waiting for who? What did Sport mean by him waiting for us? Waiting for our decision whether to sign him or not? I thought we clearly wanted him it was him who'd rather stay at Palmeiras for now?

Also, I have to say this piece by Sport is sentimentalism at best, if "The player told SPORT exclusively that 'playing at Barça would be a dream.'" is the "word" they are referring to, this does not mean much. We have had quite a few Culer-players (if you will) that ended up joining other teams, including Real Madrid (allegedly Modric, Oezil, Isco and Kroos). I think I have read him expressing that very sentence (translated into English) before, so I am not sure how "exclusive" this piece by Sport is, and if has anything new that we didn't know before at all.

By the way Flavia, I really miss that Messi avatar of yours and I really can't stand looking at this hybrid monster. :p

I think he won't sign for any team in this window. Only the next. Till then a lot can happen.

And don't say that about Umtitol :(

So it is us waiting for him then. Sport, Sport, hire someone who speaks English well, will you?

I love Puyol and I think Umtiti will be very promising for us, but man, Umtitol hurts my eyes...
