Gabriel Jesus

He can plays all three positions up front, so would be perfect for us as well. He's been the big star in Brazil in 2016. Probably never gonna happen.

The last time we bought a striker from Palmeiras, it was this guy
Except he was a garbage goal scorer and just sat around the box. This kid has pace, dribbling and energy/drive like crazy. He also seems to be really cool in front the net and in tight spaces which is great for us. He can play anywhere upfront.

18mil for 30 year old Nolito, Gameiro for a stupid price and is also old or this kid for 24mil who can play anywhere up front and the sky is the limit....and 19.

Easy decision to me.

And he seems confident, which is needed to excel here. Not to mention he keeps stating he wants to play for us.

Who's better though. Gabriel Jesus or Gabriel 'GabiGol' Barbosa? Jesus is right-footed, GabiGol left-footed. We were linked with GabiGol last year, and we reportedly also have first refusal on him from the Neymar deal, but now it seems we're after Jesus...interesting. Here's a thought, a future brazil (Barca) attack Gabi Jesus - Neymar - GabiGol :neymar:

But no, seriously which of the two Gabriel's do you think would be a better fit in Barca and which of them do you think will actually come, if any (or eventually even both)? :p

Gabigol isn't as fast and he doesn't play as well on the wings. Jesus is the better talent and fit for Barca imo

Don't know about paying so much for a youngster and making him sit on the bench.... It could really jeopardize his growth, assuming he does have a very high cap and that he is not just another media-driven over-rated Brazilian youngster!

I mean look at it this way.... We had such a youngster back home in Deulofeu, did not live up to the potential! Bought similar such potential future star in Alen Halilović whom we are not able to use yet and he is even looking at a scenario of him not realizing his potential!

And in Jesus's case, along with the pressure of living upto the hype, he will also have to endure the pressure that the huge transfer fee brings on him!

It would be sweet if they could repeat what the mid field of Busi, Xavi and Iniesta have done :D Actually even half of what they have done

The hype is not high and the price of 20m is pocket change in this market. The most important thing is that he can play on all three positions up front, guaranteeing him more playing time than the others we're linked to.

Deulofeu was doomed from the beginning because he's lazy. Gabriel is a workhorse and can play in all three positions which is key to getting playing time as our sub behind MSN.

Like JombI said 24 million isn't much for a young promising player, he already looks of a different class compared to Sandro and Munir and all the other young Brazilians we've been linked to. He has a drive and energy to him like Neymar did at that age.

If we really want to get him we need to stop being so stingy. We are not known for our negotiating skills and we almost always pay more than your average club to buy players these days, so if his buy-out is 24m what is the point of submitting a 17m+4 bid? To avoid the taxes associated with paying the buy-out? The last thing we want is one of the other 5 clubs comes in and pays the buy-out while we are negotiating with Palmeiras.

City reportedly wants to trigger his buy-out too.

You can see his performance away to Flamengo here. At 19 he's not the biggest player, but he doesn't shy away from getting involved physically.

Why should we pay more if they are willing to negotiate?

That only means no one has triggered the buy-out yet, it doesn't mean a club won't do that in the next minute. Again if one of the alleged six clubs is willing, the buyout is only 24m and Palmeiras can't do a thing.

By the way, Palmeiras just came out and denied that we submitted a bid.
