WOW! Gai and Messi are unbelievably similar in that vid. Same technique and vision.

He does sometimes run when he should pass but that should come with experience.

yeah im excited about the youth prospects, especially if Gudjohnsen leaves, they'll be at least one spot for some youth.

I watched him yesterday in the Gamper Cup.He has good moves but he's too reluctant and loses his head easily. He ruined a couple of attacks because of his inaccurate passing.Should work much harder if he wants to be in the team.

showed some good runs and is not afraid of handling the ball. has natural skill but has to keep his head up and needs to work on his passing. for his age he looks great but another year in the youth teams will do him some good.

i hope talk about Gai leaving is false...why should he want to leave Barca.??...he is training with the best players in the world on the best team in the world....i saw a little of him against Man City and he is very good for 17...kinda reminds me of Messi...what Txiki and co should be doing is to protect him from poachers like Fergie and Wenger who love to raid other clubs canteras cuz their own club youngsters are shitty...maybe we should loan out our juvenil coaches to run canteras for them...hahaha...:D

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Gai with him still being under 18 and having an EU passport now...He's not ready, yet...Terrific burst and works hard but clearly lacks the physical tools to play with a lot of these adults yet...Plus, his end product still leaves a lot to be desired...The skills are there however and I am sure he will improve...I find Thiago, JDS, Jeffren & Rochina further ahead of him in development though

Anxiously waiting for the next match
i think he lost a little explosiveness with his injury last season and he is in the process of gaining that back...

If he keeps his head down and stays focus, Gai Assulin could become one of the big talents in european(and world) football in the future. He has shown great signs so far, in the times I have seen him play. A very explosive player, who looks to have bags of pace, great dibbling ability and isn't affraid to take players on. He also has a good pass on him and his overall play and physical stature can only improve once he begins to experience more first team action. He reminds me of a similar mould type player to Lionel Messi in the potential he has shown. But whether he will become a player as big as Leo in the coming years, is another question.

Did a research and found non of his thread under this player chat section; so I thought I would start a new one for his call up.

I started following Barca because of Messi and Pro Evolution Soccer; last year, in pro evolution, I was looking for young talents to develop, and that's where I learned about Assulin and his "high growing curve"; well obviously, usually that means the player has a lot of potential. So I did some research about him and found out he was ranked highly among some of top young talents in the world. !!:hooray:

It's good to be a fan of Barca!! We got some of the best young talents!!!!!:flagvl8:
Hope he will get a chance to play and do well!!
