he is the next lionel messi

he is one of the best

does anyone agree with me

That gets the proverbial heeeeel no, with 5 e's.

I'm not sure what he will become, if anything...Strength remains an issue, obviously...But apart from some pace, I didn't see a technically sound player in preseason

Far too early, IMHO, to be anointing him anything yet

He seemed convinced in an interview that he would have entered the pitch against Almeria had Barca had a more comfortable lead.

Yeah, he was actually referring to Dinamo Kiev match. I mistakenly assumed he was talking about Barca's last match.

We are a bit light upfront so maybe Pep wanted to give him a few minutes. It would have given us an opportunity to rest Leo but we didn't have that much of a lead.

Does anyone know why Gai did not play the last game with Barca B?

I was very happy when I understood that he'll be a part of our pre-season tour, but maybe just like most of you, I was expecting a little bit more of what I saw

Fair to the kid, he didn't do nothing wrong regarding circumstances, age and what youngsters usually do in their first steps in the first team (except if your name is not Lionel Messi, but there ain't a big chance about that), but I guess the hype was just too big.

I think his first touch is an obvious class, but most of the time he had some problems in doing something effective with the ball after that. I hope we won't see another Giovani on the flank, who used to play his "hit and run" game, without doing nothing creative on the pitch at all. How I said, I hope that the hype won't ruin him, before he even start walking his road here.

Gai is creative. I think the improvements that we saw in Pedro in regards to efficacy in decision making restores some hope in Gai. If you remember, Pedro was not nearly as effective a little over a year ago, he has improved so much in one year. Gai is much more talented than Pedro, if he can work with a similar drive to improve and learn this year under Lucho then I think we'll all be impressed by him next year.

He's not all that bad in fifa10! I use him quite a lot. Maybe I'm just awesome.

How did he play today?! I wasn't able to catch the game today b/c of clinical...I was extra pissed off when I heard he started. Was sad to see on official site he was subbed at 57', hope he didnt get hurt.

Anyway, how did he do? He is probably my favorite prospect, he has good speed and he moves like a mix of dinho/messi, I love it. If he developed correctly I know he'd become one of my favorite players. Remember he's only 18!

I only got to watch parts of the game, but he seemed to show the same qualities he did in the preseason. Not afraid to run at defenders and made some great moves, but loses the ball a bit too much.

Yeah, he had a couple of nice moments on the ball but, IMHO, was largely ineffective - much like in preseason.

His head was down a lot. With time and experience he'll understand when to pass and when to dribble.

Honestly, i think this guy is overhyped so much, people think he will perform awesome when he gets the chance but he hardly ever does
