Gareth Bale

In Lucho we trust!
Well it doesn't make a difference who we line up, as if we meet Madrid in La Liga they won't be trying anyway as they have no interest in the competition.

They care a lot about la liga, only pretend they don't when they are losing it.
Obviously they want la decima more than anything but that doesnt make la liga the supercopa.

Of course not , La liga is very important trophy , 2nd most important trophy & we will fight for it every year... far from being called a supercup
However our obsession remains the same and every year it is a priority above all else... managers(Capello /Pellegrini ) players (Higuain ) always judged by how good they are in the Champions league with us & how far we go
For all a manager like Capello did , he is still not remembered as a great manager due to his failure with US in the CL ... Higuain scored a bundle and saved our asses so many times yet his failure in the CL made him a suspect that he is not good enough to stay
after 32 liga titles , winning the liga and crashing out in the round of 16 is not enough to keep your job .. there can be rare exceptions but that's generally the rule

"Never before has there been such a huge gap between a transfer fee and the actual market value of a player. If Gareth Bale can be the 'next Tom Cruise' still has to be proven. The 24-year-old Welshman had nine Champions League appearances so far and he wasn't able to feature in big tournaments with the Wales national team."

"Out of the six most expensive transfers of all time, five were done by Madrid. It's within the club's philosophy to think in superlatives.

"I highly doubt that Real Madrid's approach is still contemporary considering their €600m debt and the economic situation in Spain.

"Furthermore, they recently didn't have success internationally, their last Champions League win was 11 years ago."

for a club that has won 4 cl in the last 50 years, the fans surely try to make it seem that winning one more is the entire reason for the existence of the club as if real have been dominating the CL for years and the 10th will just be the toppings.

its real one of the biggest clubs in the world, they will win another one at some point.

Love your IFFFFS sort of post "the last 50 years.. because if you make it 60 you will have to add 5... how about for a club that won 3 CL in the last 18 years ? would that make it better ?

It's our holy grail.. It is related to the club persona and name.. more than any other team in the world... when people talk about Real they say "Record Champions league winners " " 9 time winners "
Cule's started to understand the importance of the CL after you broke your 1 CL trophy jinx in the last decade... before that you didn't understand what the CL means when you were looked from above from other usual winners (Liverpool , Milan , Real , Bayern etc )
maybe when you add 3-4 more CL you will be in the exact position as we are...
For us & AC Milan fans .. we have similar obsession
(Even for Liverpool before the setback )

What if i told you, Our line-up in this match was
Alves-Pique-mascherano-Puyol

We don't need Tall CB or LB/RB to squash them, Our pressing will be enough.

There is a big difference with Puyol playing leftback, Abidal style, and Jordi Alba either out of position altogether or too weak and small to win any back post crosses.

I'll never have a CL obsession,

to win it, you need to put a top team together that gels right and you have a few things go your way.

to lose it, you need to put a top team together that gels right and you have a few things goes against you.

Forget about the Madrid presentation part, Bale reminds of a former big Barca player: RRRRRRRIVALDO. And that is very scary :pep:

He could end up like Rivaldo , like Henry or like Cristiano.. one thing for sure.. we trust Zizou eye for talent.. he got us Varane , he forced Perez to sign Isco after the deal stalled with Malaga financial demands and he vouched for Bale...
