Gareth Bale

It's hard to measure the impact of a single player. But you can see the annual revenue, and Madrid have increased theirs significantly and consistently every year. In that respect the overall financial strategy has paid off, although how much of that is because of Galacticos and how much is because of good work of the marketing department is unknown publically.
Of course, the only factor that could have the impact of a single player on is the merchandise... And obviously merchandise isn't the only reason they buy galacticos, as widely publicised!!
Anyway, Bale wouldn't exactly be a fine replacement for CR7 if they ever decide to sell the Portuguese hero if Bale doesn't live up to his "potential"... Not as a player anyway, but not even financially

Ozil dominates Bale in the shirt sale war...

No, that's not right. Players can have an impact on all pretty much areas of income. More people might come to the matches to watch them. More people might support the club and want to watch them enabling the club to sign better tv rights deals. Maybe more companies would be willing to pay more sponsorship money. For example Panasonic signing a sponsorship deal with Barca might be because they got Neymar.

I am a huge Bale-doubter but in a month or so, when he gets used to playing on the right, he'll do fine.

I agree. Once Bale adapts to Ancelotti's world famous possession style football, Real Madrid will be unstoppable. Ball retention and short passing statistics with Ronaldo and Bale on the wings will go through the roof. With that much creativity upfront they will carve open one defense after another with incredible passing sequences and throughballs. Removing the conservative Arbeloa and Coentrao and replacing them with 2 offensive wingbacks Marcelo and Carvajal will further strenghten the Madrid defense on the flanks, which already looks unpenetrable as it is with the workrate the € 200 million front duo is putting in. The team already showed lots of strengths and promise against Atletico as this statistical analysis of OPTA shows:

So building on this performance won't be too tough.

Etc. etc.

PS (because I don't want to disappoint spark): They WILL rape our defense.

True. But the impact a single player could have on those things that you mentioned would not be drastic! It probably would be if he were playing for a Sevilla or some thing!! I mean Real Madrid is such an established club that the failure of a single player would not affect their TV right deals, etc. by a great margin. There would surely be an effect but it would be minimal. The only visible effect would be on the shirt sales.
It would be a whole lot of a different scenario if it were a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo though. But Bale isn't there yet!!

Aaaand he's injured again.
Lord help us if this continues. 90 mil down the drain.
But maybe it's for the best. I'd rather have Di Maria than him.

Of course he will get injured... no pre-season ... he should be excluded for 3 weeks just doing pre-season training before he can join the squad
I'd even send him to Castilla to play with them if it's my call and Perez would allow such decision to stand :p

If we continue to rush him it will be like Sahin and will spend the first half of the season injured
