Deulofeu: "I've been following Sevilla for years. I decided to come here and I hope that everything goes well. I'm very motivated." [sfc]

Deulofeu: "Before I decided, I talked to Denis Suarez and other people who know Sevilla. I can't wait to start training tomorrow."

Haha, surely you decided :lucho2:

Lucho: Gerard, you can either go to Sevilla or you can go to Sevilla. The decision is up to you.

Deulofeu on his move to Sevilla:

"Luis Enrique told me I wouldn't play a lot. It's his opinion. I know I have to do a bit more in defense. I will work and improve."

"Having to leave Barça did surprise me a bit. I was at Everton, they told me to return... But I have to look forward now."

"I'm very happy to be at Sevilla. It was my first idea when Luis Enrique told me his decision. This will be a key season for me."

"National team? Why not... I will work hard, do the best I can. If Del Bosque decides to call me up, I'll be very grateful."

Work hard and come back, Deulo!

Munir was far better this preseason and he's 2 years younger. Defensive contribution was Deulofeu's problem ever since teenage years and he has not improved in that aspect at all. Lucho means what he says and I love it so far (was the Everton bashing a legit quote btw?)

The source hasn't been confirmed but it seems so, yes. And Deulo has improved defensively, but still not to the extent that we need him to be at.

Also, Munir is actually only a year younger. Munir turns 19 on September 1st.

I hope it's true. I love it.

Maybe he improved a bit but I hasn't spotted any significant changes. Munir eats him up alive in that aspect.

My main issue with Deulo is his lack of combination play when he's out there with players at the same level as him (read: same age and standing in the team).

Was just pondering his fail/success ratio then it dawned on me no Catalans have ever been star forwards. Raul Tamundo and Sergio Garcia is as good as it gets for Catalan forwards in modern history.

Deulofeu and Adama (born in Catalonia) will change that.

Didn't Adama decide to play for Mali? Deulofeu is now the only option. I still can't see how he won't make it on the Spanish national side he just needs to work hard and DVB will call him up.

Just rumors. He was born in Spain, and still plays for Spain's youth sides, so I don't see why he wouldn't continue for Spain, especially when Spain, at the moment, is really lacking in attack.

he doesn't know when to pass the ball. decision making is his biggest problem. But, there are a lot of players who don't defend well (forwards), his second problem is we already have atleast 3 such first teamers. which is already risky in modern day's football.
