Gerard Deulofeu

He does not want to come back.

I think he doesn't want to come back until Lucho is our coach but if he leaves in summer next coach could convince Gerard he could have a role to play here.

I've also read that we might buy him back with our buy option just to sell him for more. I don't like doing that to our kids but it's not like he has any future in Everton and I'd prefer for us to make a profit with him than Everton. Of course he first has to keep playing well for Milan and raise his value.

If he plays well enough I don't see why we couldn't bring him in as a backup attacker. The only one we have at present is a 35m midfielder and he's not good enough for anything other than squash matches and will only be getting older.

I've never seen anything from Deulofeu to suggest that he could be a first team player for Barcelona. I understand wanting an academy graduate to make it, but I don't see Barca ever really wanting him back, not without a huge up-tick in performance anyway.

We spend large amounts of money on players worse than Deulofeu, you set the bar way too high.

I think you're massively overrating him. The guy couldn't establish himself at Everton and hasn't scored a goal all season. If he wasn't a Barca academy product then he probably wouldn't even have a thread.

Messi would kick him out of the club himself when Deulo decides to shoot the ball to the moon with several players open, or when he tries to score from a corner.

But the fact remains that he is a Barca product and could be brought back rather easily. It's not like he'd need any major role on the team to give our front line a rest, just look at Arda and Paco.

I watched the whole match against Lazio last evening and indeed that made me think he can adapt. Especially because of his workrate i've never seen before. Montella seems to have strong influence on him. Still does some stupid decisions time once in the while, but is way more creative than most of Milan players. Seems he tries to find the thin line between selfishness and teamwork. One think that imo is very underrated in barcaforum is his passing ability. Both high and low balls. None of our recent La Masia players had such an eye for a sharp pass. Unfortunately Milan is very clunky at them moment as a team, so more observation is needed on his overall play. Fact that he tracks back and is actually effective at pressing is a new one for me. Really hope he matures, because his talent as dribbler and creator is immense. He seems to have the same problem as Halilovic - poor understanding of positioning himself. He's poor off the ball which means he doesn't receive the ball much and in good situations, but when he does, he shines more often than not.

The way the deal is worded that's impossible. I actually thought he had a poor game against Lazio but the Milan team is pretty poor in general.

He as always been good, just needs the right coach and time to develop his game.

Not saying he will be what we all expected him to be, but he is no Joe average
