You can't think of any reason for why he might have been dropped? What is your forum saying about his situation?
I was under the impression he was being his old usual self which is what caused him to be given up on. Care to shed some more light on the situation?
Someone had a theory that Martinez blamed Geri for the Man City Cup Semi final defeat because instead of holding on to the ball he gave it away cheaply and it lead to a goal when we were ahead in the tie. I'm not sure about that but he practically maybe even literally (I can't quite remember) didn't play after that until the FA Cup semi final when he came on at half time and completely changed the game and changed us from a slow defensive team with no confidence to a team that looked like it could score with every attack.
I think the answer is probably just that after Man City Martinez did drop him and Lennon came in and did extremely well and Geri didn't get his place back.
Koeman just didn't rate him from the start. People seem to think he has an issue with fitness and Koeman likes his attackers to press from the front so ultimately this makes him unsuitable and dispensable. Again I'm not sure regarding his fitness.
I think the answer is much simpler. Coleman is an awful defender and as a result our right winger needs to be as good a defender as an attacker otherwise we just leak goals. Geri tracks back but even when he gets back he just doesn't have the positional awareness of a defender.
I think we have made a big mistake but I'm looking forward to seeing him play for Milan.
I hope they play him on the left and give him freedom. He's ok as a right winger but I think he will be devastating when played in a central position when he can feed through balls into the center forward.
