Yeah I'm not the biggest fan either. I don't think we will make it here but hopefully he proves me wrong.

Apparently Napoli are very interested in him, so if anything we could sell him for profit.

No problem with his aura. . .
Everyone can't be the same.
More of a problem with his ball control, movement on the ball, calculated decisions. . . . Everything seems off!

What is the problem with his ball control? He actually has a good technique. His worst problem was his head, if he sorts that out he could really be a good backup for us.

His ball control and movement of the ball have always been great and his decision making has improved tremendously over the years.

What exactly is "Off" about it?

I actually think his ball control is really good. As for decisions, he seems to be improving, but wingers and dribblers in general take more risky decisions. I think he's much better now than a couple of years ago, when he tried to do the play of the game too often. He's better at reading the game.

I wish he improved a bit on his left foot, but I'd hardly qualify that as amateurish (that was hyperbole, right?). In that department, he's no Pedro, but he's not Alexis Sánchez either.

One technical aspect I find quite awesome about him: his instep kick.

And why wouldn't he, he's on top form and would rather keep his fate in his own hands.

He'd be so useful to us if he returned that there's no way we should be considering selling him on regardless. He's better than every backup attacker we have by some distance and he'd only cost us 12m.

I wonder if Robert talked with the potential manager(s) about this transfer. Would be pretty stupid if not.

Agreed - especially considering that he can be quite a mouthful. I mean - right now he works defensively, is unselfish etc., but how does he react when things start to go against him again? I'm not convinced he is a good idea and certainly not without consulting the one who has to manage him!

I've always liked his skill set since he was coming up through the B team but attitude and working for the team was always an issue. If we stick to the Cryuff diamond, I think he'd be excellent on the RW position.

It could work but the new coach would have to keep him motivated. Has he really improved that much with Milan in ~3 months?

His decisions making is still poor from what I have seen at Milan he is just in a team where he is given freedom to make those mistakes.

This is really risky for him. He has a higher probability of truly making it if he stayed at Milan and tried to continuously up his level until he moves to a big club with a vacancy at LW. I'd love for Gerard to make it here, but it's just difficult. He could own the LW position and have a club build their attack around his dynamism if he grows into even 3/4 of the player he promised to be. Instead he opts to come to Barca for, at best, a 50/50 shot at holding down a 4th fiddle position to MSN on his weaker flank.

He is far better than any of our options currently though. From the club's perspective, it's a cheap acquisition for a versatile player who can make a difference on either wing and as a supersub. If he doesn't work out, they can dispose of him elsewhere without a second thought. It's Deulo's career that's being gambled with, and only he will really suffer in the long term if this transfer doesn't work out.
