Gerard Deulofeu

He almost refuses to cross unless at byline.

My theory is that he plays with head down so much he only knows where he is when sees that line and panics to a shit low cross at defender.

Awful tonight. He should be sold in January if possible because it's completely pointless playing him in our first team anymore as he simply isn't good enough and offers next to nothing. So frustrating to watch and you could see Messi has had enough trying to play with him, it's actually insulting asking Messi to play with someone who is clearly so far below the required level.

Deulofeu was never meant to be given this much of a role in the team. If Dembele is healthy his minutes are cut down to an almost Denis level. The problem is he's essentially the only real backup for that position that we have. Terrible squad planning does that, and our lack of options up front is the result of the MSN curse that I so often spoke of when we had the same 3 players starting up top for us in each and every game we played.

He has 5 starts and 4 sub appearances in 13 league matches and about similar ratio in ChL. If you wanted him back and expected him to somehow succeed here, what role did you envision for him then?

I agree, but the MSN curse is exaggerated: Real had no BBC curse or Modric/Kroos curse - everyone still wants and wanted to play for them with 0 chance of playing time.
So in the end it is just excuses.
