Good news. He had a good season and deserves the renewal. Hopefully Lucho will get him back to his best. He showed some signs that he still got it.

I'd like to see Pique being tried out in the DM position with Busi in Xavi's position from time to time. We desperately need height and strength in midfield and Pique has excellent qualities to play further up the pitch than CB. There are no players remotely capable of taking over from Xavi on the transfer market today, so looking in-house is the best solution IMO. Its easier to find two great CBs than a player to take over from Xavi. Busquets is the smartest midfielder in the world and Pique gives us strength and power in DM.
Dede and Laporte could be our two CB purchases. Maybe sign Aurier from Toulouse as Dani Alves replacement, who can play CB too. Not saying Pique should play DM all the time, but I think it could be the best solution.

With this team, we just increased the height of our team by 3 meters, and we would be a real force on corners and crosses. We conceded a huge number of goals on corners and set pieces this season, but this would effectively put an end to that.

What a good laugh, Pique has neither strength nor height ( at least not in the jumping and leaping ability ). Neither is he good enough technicaly ( first touch ) nor are his passing skills or vision remotely good to be a midfielder at Barca.
