Gerardo "Tata" Martino

Should comment after the last 2 games before season is over, and after the final game Vs Atletico (i suspect that the worst in terms of attitude will come then), but as a general comment i should say:
Tata was a total failure..
He had clear ideas for a conservative shift in the team's tactics, playing more defensively, protected, emphasizing the counters, but not the slightest guts to implement them, making a cowardish retreat right after Xavi complaint about the change in game style, and selecting the - easy way - auto pilot of the previous years, which we show what results can bring when there is no leader and real coach to manage it..
Of course, it was first and foremost failure of those who selected him, and were not willing to see him making any changes (see board etc)
I was not in accord with Tata's ideas, nor did i like the style of what i was watching untill December. But it was a crime he wasnot backed at least untill the summer
Worst of all, the fact that he did not openly declare unable to continue like this and leave during winter transfer window.. End result what we show.. We could at least win LaLiga if he was backed or with a timely shift in personnel..

Right now there is no hope for Barca, bcz the one coming (Enrique) might prove worse than Tito and Tata together..

PS: Believing that by bringing a coach originating from the same city with Messi, he will be able to turn him into a somehow supernatural-mode and make him win the titles by himself, or doing him whatever favours he pleased in order to be happy, is also very naive and stupid

As a general comment i should say that I believe you're overracting heavily, but hey, different oppinions and all that...

Other than that, I'll just comment on the PS, which is plain silly. They probably didn't exactly see him being from the same city as Messi as a detracting factor in his appointment, but claiming that it's the main reason is just dumb. Plain and simple. They signed him because the club was in a serious pickle, and Tata was most likely the best option available at the time. He'd always be a slight gamble, considering he'd never coached in Europe before, but other than that his merits were fine. And that's why he was signed. Not because of some absurdly dumb story that the Spanish tabloids somehow have managed to spread amongst some cules. I bet it was also Messi that forced the board to sign Tata, right? That or he'd throw a hissy fit that woud make Cronaldo proud!

Messi didnt push or force to sign Tata,
BUT you answer me how many times has barcelona hired a non-European manager with non-European experience before???

Is it that some minds high in the hierarchy of the club are so close-circuited that they discovered suddenly a -supposedly - promising coach from LAtin America that happens to have close connections with MEssi and thought of him as a good idea?
Is just this an indication that when a player is placed by the officials above the club or at least at the same level with, something is going utterly wrong there?

You're reading too much into it. Tata already had the pedigree, albeit it was with South American clubs and international sides. That he had led NOB to a Clausura and that he was a fan favorite at Messi's boyhood club prior to becoming Barca coach is just a coincidence. If you start to analyze stuff to the degree at which you have, you will start to become a conspiracy theorist and you'll begin to blame aliens for Tata's signing.

Yup, KingMessi speaks the truth. As far as I know, Messi didn't know and hadn't even met Tata before his hiring. But, yeah, it sure is a great way cooking up various paranoid conspiracy theories...

Elvio Paolorosso organized a bbq, to try to improve the players morale for the final 2 games:

The Barça first team squad got together after training to enjoy some Argentinian beef at the Masia

This Wednesday, after finishing the morning training session at the Ciutat Esportiva, the Barça first team squad held a team lunch at the New Masia. The first team players and coaches enjoyed a barbeque, based around Argentinian beef, in the open air, taking advantage of the sunny day in Sant Joan Despi.

It’s not the first time that they’ve done this, as in early December the team also held a BBQ in Sant Joan Despi.
The current get-together comes ten days before the end of the 2013/14 League season. Barça have two games left: this Sunday away at Elche, and the last game against Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou.

Our players drink beer and coca cola. Cristiano on the other hand does neither of these things. I know it's extreme but top level athletes should make those sacrifices.

I am sure I have read that teams encourage their players to drink sugary drinks after games/training.

Yeah they drink things like powerade straight after training to give glucose to the muscles, but apart from that no. Especially something like coke.

Footballers are encouraged to drink soft drinks like Coca Cola and is classed as simple carbohydrates from some of the articles I can see.

I am sure I have heard of this before when fans complaining as team took a case of Coca cola on bus and it was explained as correct thing to do.
