Didn't he cause a lot of unrest with fans because of his demands etc. I remember a lot of drama happens with him.
Not your normal case. Obviously believes very highly of himself and shows no loyalty to anybody.
But imo:
1. when a Milan player has high wage demands = a club can't afford it, they refuse it and then the fans are mad at a player for asking too much
2. while at Barca = Messi gets how much he wants, Suarez, Busi, Roberto, Cou, Dembele, Frenkie
If you get me?
I don't think that there is any difference between Donnaruma and Suarez/Busi/Frenkie.
The only difference is that we are paying the highest wages in the world so all players are staying, they are happy and they are milking the club = so you can't get the upproar from fans since every player will get more or less whataver he asks for.
In Wijnaldum's topic, someone said that we are still a magnet for free agents due to being a huge brand.
Yet, on the other hand, I would like to hear whether someone else offered higher wages to Wijni, Aguero, Depay.
For example:
If we offer let's say 8M per year (not a true number, just an example) to Depay.
And if he was earning 5 at France.
And if other clubs who were after him offered 5, 6, 7.
= then we haven't lured him due to being a top brand but due to paying the highest wages
We could talk about luring him here due to our brand ONLY if for example:
= we would offer 8M wages, and he rejected 12M from Arsenal/Tottenham/Inter.
But that is not the case, isn't it?
There is a rare player here and there who comes to a team for lower wages because he really loves that club.
But 90% of players will go where he is paid the most, unless in extreme case when that club is from Quatar/China and similar.
In a case of interest from Bayern/Barca/Real/Chelsea/Liverpool = a player will rarely pick one club due to "love" but mostly due to who will offer the longest contract and the highest wages.
