Gini Wijnaldum

I fail to see where that makes us comparable to 2015/2016 Newcastle.

Well he's been scoring a bit for Holland under Koeman aswell. Big fan of Gini whatever role you give him he will fullfill. 10 goals in 18 matches pretty good I think.

Yea, if you give him a more offensive role, he will score goals. Not Lampard crazy number of goals, but more goals than any of our midfielders are capable of scoring.

Starts as a RM/RW for Netherlands vs Italy.
Very central so far though.

Frenkie and Depay playing as well, DM and CF respectively.

If we can sign him for around 15 mil he would be a good asset. He is definitively different than the rest of our midfielders. He also has a very good ball control and great stamina.

Was very decent in the 2nd half. And yeah, his ball control is surprisingly good. Hes much more vertical in his style than Vidal for example as well. Would be perfect to plug that hole behind Messi.

Rumors are Liverpool did offer him a new deal and Klopp wanted him to renew but he hasn't done it.

We could use a player of his profile in midfield. We have alot of creative players which is good but we lack combative and energetic players. Wijnaldum would give us some of that.

Exactly. I am afraid if we sign Thiago we will have too much the same now that we have Pjanic.

We don't need this guy. If he is that good, why Pool is selling him instead of offering him a new contract?

It's because of the nickname. Fans of him like to rave about "Gini" like he's their friend or something.
I understand that we are looking for a different profile of midfielder, but at least go with a young guy.
Thiago is twice the player "Gini" is.

Thiago is six months younger with a far worse injury record.

If the argument is age then Thiago falls into that as well.
