Gini Wijnaldum

Ninth in team for key passes in league.

Behind Pedri, FDJ, Griezzy and notable names such as Sergi Roberto.

He has occasional great pass. Just not consistently and plays like and old man that slows down midfield too often.

What does key passes mean? And why we compare with players that play further forward on the pitch?

Shockingly, every manager around sees Busquets as still useful to have in the team/squad. Barcaforum sees otherwise :koeman:

No wonder there's room for him in the squad made of a teenager, inconsistent De Jong, and a retiree with our only addition being a washed-up never been.

Oh, how could I forget about Mavericky Puig

Chances created.

Compare to show how little chances he actually creates in the team in reality.

As if Barca rely on Busquets 'creating chances' and that would be a miss...

Guy is a liability and nowhere near the maestro on the ball you try to make out.

Falls over with ball more to try and hide his lack of mobility more than he makes those passes... and yet another chance for a player to pass the ball through midfield is gone.

Plus the washed-up never been plays mostly in FDJ's position. Another half a season of fucking around with 3-4 formations and playing FDJ around, onky to revert to 352

It's not exactly chances created.
It's the pass before the final assist (potentially)

Bar?a currently rely on Busquets to orchestrate from deep. Don't know if that's what Koeman wants or not, but it's reality. And FDJ or Wijnaldum aren't doing that.

Actually even JamDav doesn't know but sounds fancy. Curious where are these numbers posted.
To me it seems like times a player passes to Messi and inshala. As that's what Pedri, FDJ or Griezmann currently do.

They 'rely' on him as he plays there but in reality he is no orchestrating anything to any great level.

Falls over when pressured and takes too many touches and slows game down too often when in space.

Slow player that plays in way to hide his own limitations on the ball.

The formal definition is:
"Key pass is the final pass or pass-cum-shot leading to a shot at goal from a teammate" from whoscored and Opta
So it includes assists but not only assists.
Messi expected to have the lion share of key passes in the team

I didn't expect Busi to feature high on key passes given how low he plays on the field

Exactly as I said. Chances created.
