If you think Busquets is top class still and Puig is worth place in Barca team then your patience is not worth anything anyway.
Busquets is done as a player.

Compare Busi from his prime and today. He is WAY slower with his decisions/dribbles etc etc. He has slowed down a lot.

Probably true. Busi worked for certain team but playing high line with Busi is just suicidal.

We have Messi,FDJ,Pedri and next year Depay...This year Coutinho. They are all good passers and Messi is best in the world in chance creation.
Why the f*** we need Busqets to be soo good passer and be so shit at everything else?
His influence at passing from half of the pitch to the 40 meters from opposition goal is so small , that even I could pass the ball 10 meters.
He does not create chances, he is not good in defense, he is not good at catching counter attacks, tackling...
CDM need to be defensive cardio machine, with good heading. Fabinho,Casemiro that type. Or Kante (not good header).
I would rather put Griezmnann at CDM then watch Busqets.

He's very good in transition and moving the ball forward. I realize this year that he is obviously past his peak but fulfills his function better than anyone in the squad right now.
We saw in Pjanic brief minutes that he is a liability in his pass selection and in de Jong that he does not see 360 of the field.
If we surround Busquets with players who move, close down and cover distance then we can still make use of him. Think of a squad around him of de Jong and Araujo behind then Pedri and Wijn infront, just as an example.
In 2015 Juventus reached the CL final and won the league with guys like Marchisio, Vidal, Pogba, Bonucci liberating the work of Pirlo as libero.
Maybe DeJong can be our future DMC but we need better possession players infront of him which we currently lack.
So seems this year at the moment it is better to go with Busi still and see how much a guy like Nico develops for the same role as a long term option, as he will now be training with the first team.

All that acheives is same issues that have been in team for years.
Expecting others to do running for those that cant just fucks up balance of team and impacts every other player.
Barca have failed at CL for years and last two in league with this idea 'others can do running' for Pique, Busi, Messi and before that Suarez.
Yet here we are and some want to go again with this idea.
It is to the point Barca cannot play a simple 433 where everyone has their own role in team.
Messi is the only one any consideration should be given for not done players like Pique and Busquets.

Of course Busi is still a WC passer and his breaking-line passes are still second to none.
BUT
he is a huge liability when it comes to all other traits we need from a modern CM or DM.

Barca struggles in DEFENSIVE TRANSITIONS, which is maybe the worst department of Busi.

Double up FDJ and Wijnadlum behind Messi at AM.
Busquets should be gone and barely used. There on nothing but name and status.

Shockingly, every manager around sees Busquets as still useful to have in the team/squad. Barcaforum sees otherwise
