well it worked, the neymar transfer was the nail in the coffin for us.
They destroyed us by giving us the money

Some rumours reported Barca is interested in Gundogan (30y) from Manchester City to strenghten the midfield.
This is pure demagogy and living in the past.
Qatar bought Psg in 2011 and it took them years to create a top club. Also with UEFA did everything to limit Qatar to fund PSG. You are calling us as Oil club, but, Qatar stopped funding PSG 5 years ago. They just gave us 220 m loan for Neymar that we paid it back in 3 years.
Now, we are a force in CL anymore. We played a CL final last year and semi final this year. The club has the fastest growth rate financially.
Our FFP problem ended and we are now free to invest heavily every year.
By the way, we only paid a little more to Wijnaldum, not double. this is just Catalan media BS.
PSG is a good club to retire and face old age in peace. Previously, this was Barca.
Originally wanted him as he adds quality and depth but if all he's after is the money then good riddance.
Crazy when he'd still be a multi millionaire here. Saw people say if you were offered double salary you'd accept it. Well yeah but that's because in all likelihood people's salaries here falls in the tens of thousands. Doubling that massively changes the dynamic of everything you can do, purchase etc. Going from 5m a year to 10m a year doesn't. Unless you are vigorously investing in mansions.
I like how you try to rationalize their action. Just following the transfer news around Europe is enough to answer your question.
No, they didn't have 1st 2nd or 3rd target that suddenly became unavailable.
Actually the only midfielder that was heard for them is Carmaviga along with the leak that Rennes president asked 100m or more for him, so eventually shut their interest down.
Yes, they are on the market for a midfielder, and Wijnaldum is a decent player to cover the position. That's common knowledge.
They are not just wasting money, they are paying a football player, and they will receive a service for him.
But 'Why him' and 'Why now' are the questions that should tell you that what's happening is far from accidental
It's not irrelevant that they didn't move for him earlier.
How many times have you heard a transfer to fail after a team has reached personal agreement with a player, and failing in particular because another team intervened AFTER the event offering more money in order to hijack the agreement?
It's naive to overlook the succession of events.
PS1: With Frenkie, they did it differently. They didn't hijack a closed deal.
They offered him a contract after it had been known for months that Frenkie wants Barca and Barca wants Frenkie.
They took advantage of the slowness and complacency with which Barto board had not secured an agreement with the player until then, but their intentions were the same.
Let's steal another player that is set to join Barca
PS2:
Guys please.
I am not throwing generalities 'the whole world is against Barca' etc
I am talking specifically.
It's PSG, Kelaify, and it has happened many times to think it's accidental.
Just count the cases of players that PSG targeted and/or tried to sign after it was leaked in press that Barca are interested OR Barca has an agreement with.
It's on purpose
PS3:
People can be petty, very petty...
Even at high positions of power and authority that are associated with some status.
Why do you think we hijacked Malcom's transfer to Roma? Because he was some unbelieavable gem that we discovered after he had agreed deal with them?
He was not even in any list of potential targets.
Barto and his board were pretty petty people and could not get over the UCL debacle at Rome
Baseless arguments.
We agreed with De Jong for 8.5 net wage. then, Barto offered almost double wages to De Jong and got him. 16 m net with easy obtainable bonuses.
Isnt it better to tell his grandchildren one day he played for barca than for P$G![]()
considering the present and future is Psg's.playing in PSG is much better idea.
