Gini Wijnaldum

Imo, hardworking, good movement, but lacking creativity and finishing.

I know that Wijnaldum and Thiago can score here and there.
I would prefer a CAM infront of a hardworking duo.

Wijnaldum is a scorer of clutch goals in CL. Has 3 goals in CL semifinals, in the last 3 seasons. His finishing is one of his best weapons.

For Newcastle he had 11 goals in 38 games. That's almost 1 goal every 3 games.

I agree that he is not a playmaker. But no player can be everything.

Yes it's about having a balanced midfield. Not sure Pjanic and Thiago is what we need

He's not assisting much because L'pool's system is set up to attack through FBs/wingers. Doesn't mean he can't assist. He has scored important goals for L'pool and also scored a lot for NT under Koeman who has used him in a more advanced role.

And last but not least, he's much more athletic and mobile than Busi, Raki or Vidal.

Exactly. I feel like DeJong/Pjanic and Thiago would be a bit too weak midfield. I want to see some guy running a lot and defending well with DeJong.

People in here were praising Vidal not too long ago, saying that he is the best midfielder in the squad.
Now they're creaming themselves over a 30 year old who never excelled at anything his whole career. Plays in a midfield/team where even the likes of Henderson and Milner look like football players.
But yeah, let's give him one last big paycheck for 3 seasons so he can enjoy the Barcelona life. Hell of a rebuild we're doing with the likes of Pjanic and Wijnaldum.
