What England need is a manager like Rodgers or Martinez who can build teams playing good football and has a system that is progressive and are flexible in their approach to tactics.

Need a manger who will drop Rooney, he just doesn't fit into the system we were/are trying to play and he is nowhere near good enough to have a team built around him.

For weeks we were told by the team and the manager they would go out to attack and yet, Welbeck played instead of Lallana and Sterling -by far our best player against Italy- was forced out onto the right to accommodate an incredibly useless Rooney who was not dropping into the hole so Gerrard or Henderson could find him.

We basically had 6 defenders and then 4 attackers with no one linking, which is the job we were all told was one of Rooneys best.

I would be fully erect right now if I heard that Rodgers was taking over the job. Instead we have Mourinho saying he'll take the job at some point.

My eyes must have been playing a trick on me when I saw Johnson and Baines going forward so often. They were anything but cautious. I didn't think Roy was conservative at all in the 2 games.

I would agree. If anything I'd say we were a bit reckless at times. Still, made for better viewing than the Euros, results aside.

In a midfield 3 Gerrard would still be shit for England.

He would be less shit though. And leaving Carrick at home was madness. The only defensive midfielder in there is Gerrard, and he's really only played the position for a single season.
