They aren't playing for their lives vs Barca we are simply the easiest team to play and score against .

It's a combination of shit finishing and him being not having a decisive answer to LL defensive tactics that was perfected by decades of Simeone + Mourinho + Bordalas + etc and all the LL teams emulating them.

Flick is obviously a good coach so I expect him to come up with an answer to this, maybe not with the current roster as our depth is pretty shit, but when he is allowed to make signings.

He's just not ready for the LL bulshit and consistently underestimates these small sides like Celta, Las Palmas, etc. Every team in La Liga knows how to defend like prime Simeone and waste time like Bordalas, there are no teams like Southampton. I doubt he ever faced this type of game where a team grabs a goal and then just shuts down for 90 mins. In LL that is another Tuesday with added ref heroics.

Im torn, on one hand some of these losses we have had has been unexusable but i dont think any other coach would have done better. probably worse.
His game management leaves something to desire more often than not, but he gets results against the biggest teams.

This is hilarious. How can system be a problem when we had 11 wins in 12 games with the same system earlier this season? Dominated Bayern and Madrid with it and played outstanding football.

It's how you perform what Flick demands from you that matters. His system demands from you to score goals and if you don't it's going to fail miserably. Everybody knew that even before he step foot in this club. Defending is not the best in his system, we knew that too. But if you score goals, it doesn't matter. We conceded 1 goal today, why would that be a problem? We conceded 1 goal against Sevilla, Mallorca, Villarreal, Bayern as well - but spot the difference.

Defensive tactics in Germany are laughable.

Would think he would have spent the year researching it and learning though as it was reported.

Scary shit today is : we defended so well (minus the goal), the effort was there and so is the urgency (to a fault sometimes I admit), we won duals , everyone tried hard, ball distribution was mostly fine.. however , there was a severe lack of ideas and creativity in the final third .. SEVERE.

We are set up to have our fullbacks as our main creative attacking outlet.

Kounde and Balde combined don't have a single creative attacking neuron in their brains.

This team needs TAA, Robertson, Hakimi, Davies...type fullbacks. Ones that can take on opponents on the wing, create and be an attacking threat.
