No, it tells you they cornered us into our own box

Don't try to push another narrative that it was a conscious choice.
It was NOT
We could not stop them, simply. We were lucky with the 0-1

Unlike you and Serghei, I am objective.
I admit that in the 1st leg in Paris we were the better team the whole game.
You guys fail to admit the reality of the 2nd game
Yea which is why we had the most clearly chances in the game.

Oh but it's Xavi has the coach so it was clearly lucky.

We were playing on the counter the entire game, PSG game out strong because they needed a goal, we had to weather it, a story as old as time in football, scored and the counter and if not for lewa would have scored 2.

What did their out playing out & pushing us back get them?.

Xavi the tactical master had the game in hand.

You do understand that if these stats prove something, they prove Flick's superiority, right?

Same goals conceded per game, Flick much more goals per game
This chart isn’t the W you think it is

Xavi wasn’t good enough in his final season and somehow we are even worse?

If Atletico and Madrid were as good as they were in the past we would already be out of the title race

1 win in 7 games isn’t good enough,

You sure love to choose stays that favour your agenda.

It's not even a full 1 goal extra per game.

While we have 2.5 more losses, that's the big take away.

Losses are results.

AGAIN: I know the results, the points, the table.

The real and essential comparison is how both teams (Xavi's and Flick's) fare in the underlying numbers:
how many chances they create and they concede per game, for instance?
And that's only for starters

What was xG before Araujo's double fuck-up? Territorial domination means fuck-all if it's not backed by big chances.
About the same, close to 0.4 xG for both teams
But we had only one visit in their box (the goal), they had several

We were made sit back
Understand the difference...

And we scored 1 goal and created the two best "BIG chances" in the game, you're favourite word. Lol.

Underlying numbers state Paul is smarter than John.

Paul flips burgers at Burger King, John is regional manager of Burger King.

Statistics is the first refuge of losers.

Guess what, Dortmund knocked out PSG just like we would have done, defend deep, deny them spaces to run into, exploit their lack of no9 in the box to cross to.

I think it's pretty clear that Flick's system both creates and concedes more chances than Xavi's did. He is a more offensive and expansive manager, while Xavi was more pragmatic and more cautious.

What we want to find out is which is more efficient.

Says who? You?

Say the image of the game
We failed to press them high and mid-pitch
were forced to retreat into our own box

Simple as that

We created 1 chance only (the goal) before the sent-off
They had two medium value chances before the sent-off

And the moment Ararujo fouls Barcola:
if he doesn't do that, PSG had the biggest chance of the game there.
So, not only they out-Xthreat us (not because we chose to sit back, but because they bypass us and pin us back)
but they out-xG us

For anyone with eyes to see, we we losing this game

Funny part is the commentator literally says big chance by lewa 😂 😂 😂.

If that does in 3 goals up, the tie is over.

Before the red card we clearly had the better chances.

Sitting back, riding out the obvious high intensity PSG was going to start with and hitting on the counter, was the plan and it worked until Araujo fucked us.

Araujo whyyyyy did you just let him shoot.

Literally nothing but agenda's to suggest PSG was better than us 11 V 11 over the two legs.

The point of mentioning the PSG match is exactly that, it's pointless to argue what could have happened if this or that. It's done, Araujo made that huge error and we got knocked out.

Let Flick work and we'll see what he can achieve. Obviously titles are the hardest and most valuable to obtain, the bigger the better, but he can do a good job in other departments also and in some he is doing quite well.

Predicted this summer that with Flick's appointment some people will take it too personally when shortcomings once appear. The people who crucified Xavi for the same results are not treating Flick the same. And I'll explain why - it's not xGs xAs and all the rest of scientific Football Manager data. It's much simpler than that.

Xavi's side felt inferior in big matches. Champions League performance wasn't impressive, either.

Flick's side feels more solid and competitive. Our good form in CL adds up to it as well. Not the best team on the planet, far from it, but challenging in every game. Not expecting some 0-5, 2-8 demolitions under Flick. But I start to notice the team tiring out. Atletico's late goal was due to Balde failing to cover his area. Our 4 backline of Kounde, Cubarsi, Inigo and Balde has been featured all season so far. Here and there you have Fort and Eric, not enough. And when you employ Kounde and Balde as wingbacks it demands a lot of energy.
