I agree.

Gundogan would look at the very least as good as Olmo it he stayed, and i mean if except both and could rotate with Pedri.

Cancelo would give us cover at both side at FB.

Gundogan behind Lewa there is no way can play like this under Flick.

Needs legs in there and Olmo brings a lot more than Gundo could have.

There is a reason club is paying him to play for Man City and Flick clearly didnt fancy him.

We keep talking about selling this player and that. But any of those talked about selling have all played a big part in any trophy we win this season.

Casado was excellent up to Xmas and is young enough to improve.

Fermin has been excellent pretty much every game he has not played left wing.

Eric has been what we wished of Christensen filling in at CB and CDM.

Ferran has scored vitals goals in all competitions, even when coming off the bench.

Araujo we know is a beast who needs a pre season to learn Flick's offside trap.

Frenk has been, on the whole, excellent since the turn of the year.

Even Geard Martin has played a part at left back.

I'd be sad to see any of them leave. Much rather keep them, get some title money and add 1 or 2 players if possible.

BTW, today's game has shown why we need a backup/borderline starting winger. IMO, this game with a LW would be 3-0 at halftime.

As soon as one of Lamine/Rapha isn't playing, we become very asymetrical in final third. That was amplified by Balde being rested and resulted in everything going through Lamine or sometimes through Pedri in the middle. Girona's defense could adjust to that and left space on their right side as there were no activities there.

Lewadowski's 1st goal was world class individual play, but we were stills struggling at this point. When the subs came in, Frenkie assured midfield domination and Ferran provided a runner as the left inside-forward. Since then Girona had no chance.

I think his job in the summer is to assess which areas of the pitch need strenghting. IMO at this point those are both wings and both FB positions. Kounde is playing too much, Balde is irreplaceable and Lamine/Rapha are playing crazy minutes. We need two players for those 2 positions.

After that, it's bining MATS and buying Lewa replacement (if opportunity shows itself).

I wasn't a fan of Cancelo during the second half of the season last year, especially when Balde got injured. Guy was a black hole defensively and going forward he regressed as the season went on. But at the same time, the team just wasn't there.

Gundogan is totally finished, especially watching him at City. It seemed like we got the last bit of juice out of him even though it wasn't much.

Had we kept Cancelo and Gundogan I think we'd be even stronger. They were rarely injured and think both would perform well under Flick. Balde and Kounde wouldn't have to play this much and Balde could play as winger sometimes.

Saying this as Olmo fan.
Cancelo would have been good/ok. Especially as a backup to Kounde, the guy has been playing relentlessly, and I think his form is dipping cuz of fatigue. He needs a backup to rotate with.
Gundo, I don't think he would have been good. The guy was already gassed out last season's end, and this Flick's system requires the MFs to run a lot. Gundo age would have caught up similiar to Lewa.

Exactly 3 months ago, on December 30th, Barca lost against Atletico Madrid at home.

Since then, they've gone on a unbeaten run, winning that Supercopa trophy and taking back the first place in La Liga
