Hansi Flick - how do we rate him?

The hope for me is not that we are playing great at the moment, but that the other teams are flawed and show big issues as well. Arsenal were a mess in EPL, PSG were in trouble vs Villa, Inter don't even dominate Serie A this season. They are far from boogey teams.
The last great CL semis were 14/15.

4 great teams.

And before that 11/12.

Flick: "Ansu Fati & Fort showing frustration on the bench for not playing? I understand they're disappointed, but I don't understand their reactions. I want to see the right reaction on the pitch when they get their chance to play... not after a match we've won."

So he basically criticised them in public. Could have just refused to answer and leave it privately.

Btw. Fati didn't show frustration after but during. When he wasn't subbed in.
Ferran was frustrated at being subbed.

It's only Fort really. Who never plays. How is he supposed to show "right reaction on the pitch"?

All this, coupled with Lamine showing visible dissatisfaction when subbed, or playing 37 Lewa all the time, rarely resting Raphinha...

Imo. Flick should have stamped these things out when it first reared it's head. And it was somewhere when Lamine started throwing his hands in the air each time he didn't get the ball.

Now he can't sub key players and are exhausted and even fringe players start throwing tantrums.

Im sensing things are getting to boiling point.

Maybe in part to tiredness and overplaying.

But things like asking for a sub so his mate Ansu can come on are not cool. Now we see the fuel of that with Lewy injured and Ansu probably thinking he can do a job. Spoiler- he can't.

Next time Balde, Fort, Ansu and Lameen go to the top floor balcony to take a photo, half of them should stay up there.

Or jump off.

PS. I don't condone suicide. But what I do condone is trial and research for effective city parachutes.

Would have liked nothing more than to see Ansu succeed at Barca, but it's tough to have a lot of sympathy for a player who was by all accounts told he was not counted on and that he needed to move, even on a loan, for the sake of his career.

He even rejected a move to Besiktas just because they were eliminated from European football. As if that should be his priority right now. If he moved there and played regularly and did very well he would have gotten a move to a team like Porto or something anyway I'm sure and get to play European football regularly.

It's sad when your star play (yamal) knows more ball than your coach, he sees fati cooking in training and he's like WTF is this guy smoking.

"It's written in the starts that it should be fati and I on these wings and this guy is playing with destiny."

imo disgusting from fort and ansu. Even if Flick acted the biggest snake.

Our season is in a critical moment. Team(including Ansu and Fort) can potentially win a treble. No time to stir up things now.

Fwiw I don't think it's an issue with Ansu and Fort being disappointed. Neither with the reactions of Lamine, Raphinha, etc. when getting subbed off.

as long as they don't create an issue with the coaching staff it's not a big deal at all, it's natural.

These guys want to play and to win. Would be more concerning if players were meek and happy to get subbed off.

It’s different. We have seen Real players get ostensibly frustrated for taken off early. But when do you see a Real player act this way for not being brought on?

Getting emotional when taken off is easier to understand cause player lived all emotions on the pitch. But even then player can get heat if they start kicking equipment for example.

Shit happens, and you move on.

I don't see an issue with it as long as it doesn't escalate and there's no suggestion or evidence that it will.
It's like Raphinha going crazy and pushing Flick and ter Stegen and the next game they're hugging it out. High pressure environment, frustration, a lot of energy.

Not a big deal. We shouldn't be so soft. It's not like he challenged Flick's authority or was super disrespectful. Ferran also kicked a ball and was super mad when he got subbed off.

Happens.

I thought Fort pushed Flick away when he approached him or tried to put arm around him.

Yes, he was in no mood to talk with Flick right there and went straight to the dressing room.
I don't think Flick need to go full Pep and go for those talks on the pitch either in front of all the cameras. Do it in the dressing room or in your office later.

Don't care how players act at Madrid. This stuff was rarely seen at Barca.

Said earlier, think Flick was probably a bit too friendly with players.
