Only sub that was iffy was Pedri for Gavi. Should have been Gavi for Lewy at that point in game. But small point on a fantastic substitute turn around.

Also about Atleti, they have so much more than what Simeones leash gives them.

And I feel a bit for the Metropolitano crowd lapping up 90 minutes of 11 men behind the ball for a few astute counters.

Yea Eric was poor, i don't think he added more than casado who was always off.

Yep, having another player to attack spaces in the box confused Atletico big time. The 2nd goal is a direct result of that.

Yeah. Maybe he finally found a way to bunker-bust low blocks.

It's too risky to do this the whole game (especially with our defense), but for last 20 minutes, it worked wonders.

In such episodes, our central defenders simply cannot keep up even with players like Griezman or Alvarez, who cannot be called super fast players.
