Four home games in a row and then away to Vallodolid should help get the legs back and some rotation.

Going to have to take more risks at some point. Cant keep playing the same players.

If can win those and beat Real to more or less set up the league win the full rotation away to Vallodolid before the semi final 2nd leg.

Flicks extremly risky high line offside trap wont really work next year.
Teams are already starting to adapt strategies to exploit it and wil have it fine tuned to next year.
You need extremly top level defenders on all positions to pull it off and apart from Cubarsi the rest are way to low level to handle it.
Balde and Kounde are quite bad in defence and better going forward, Araujo is just bad.
Inigo is second best CB which kinda says it all.

Looked a bit annoyed at Catalan press opening about what taste does this result leave. Reminded that we're in semis and that Dortmund were strong.

Third game is Copa final in Sevilla. Liga Clasico is after SFs.

Just please no more starting Gavi and Fermin together in a big game.
Fermin is failing so badly in scoring. He get in so clear chances to score and miss. I do not see this guy a good player overall in the future. He misses many passes too.
Gavi excells in just recuperate the ball and make pressing. That’s it. No good control, no good shot, no good header, just lateral passes, etc. we need at least one player of Pedri’s calibre to make a strong team. And, of course, a better striker, no doubt.

You're welcome
Having inigo and balde back will mean better handling of pressure and better playing from back. 2-3 players need to be rotated to keep fresh. Lamine, Raphinha and Frenkie maybe.

Pedri got good rest. That’s a positive.

Raphinia should start on the bench next game. He was ridiculously the worst player, beside Araujo last game. Absolutely amateurish level and, curiously, Flick kept him entire match on the pitch. Not sure if Flick has moments of blindness or simple, he is afraid to take decisions. He looks unhappy on the side many times, but no reaction in subs some players at the right time. Often, he starts substituting later in the game after 70 min of playing time. If you see something what does not work, make a sub right now. It is a good chance that next player in would play better than the existing worse one. Simple like that.

Flick's tactic won't work after 10 games, as teams will prepare....
Flick's tactic won't work second half of the season, as teams will prepare....
Flick's tactic won't work in crucial games, as top teams will prepare....

Then after the first lost title somewhere in the future: "Ha, I told you so!!!"

Did not save energy vs Leganes. That was like Getafe 2.0.

But we are in the semis. We have some time until the 1st leg to prepare well.

Disagree here, I think you waste more energy in an open game than if controlling possesion and tempo (we did neither). We ran 117 kms and Dortmund 123. For comparision we also ran 117 kms in first game but BVB only 113 so they've clearly played with higher effort in front of their great fans (not surprising).

Can't find stats for La Liga games (if anyone knows a site where you can find distance covered for LL games please share) but would be surprised if we had over 110 kms against Leganes. Was a slower paced game where we had 65% possesion.

Surely we progressed so everything is good but I think Flick got it wrong. Should have either sit back and defend (which he and this team can't do) trying to hit them on the counter or press from the first minute trying to score a goal or two which would definitely kill hope of Dortmund's players and fans. Instead we were somewhere in between and I think mostly just waiting for minutes to pass. But Dortmund pushed us hard (have to give them credit) so in the end had to give more effort in this game that was actually needed, especially in this phase of the season when a lot of players are already visibly tired.

Hoping Bilbao can do us a favor and beat Madrid on Sunday. A 7 point lead would do us a world of good and take the pressure off. It would also allow us to take more risks with rotations.

We still have to do our part and win against Celta first.

We will see in the next 5-6 games if we lost steam and our performances are degrading, or it was just a mix of circumstances hitting vs Dortmund at once. I think the team was exhausted, and this combined with the 4-0 advantage, and us missing some key players, we produced a stinker.
