Harry Kane

I think Spurs will do well this season with Kane staying if he doesn't drop his form amidst all these rumours of him going away to City, they even got Romero (the best Seria A defender last season).

Kane with his brother as agent, signed a contract with no release clause, at the height of Poch. He has lived to regret it. If you want a new stadium Levy is your man. If you want to win trophies, one league cup in 20 years with Levy as chairman. Harry you should have had a release clause.

Going to be tough for Kane to leave Spurs. Levy will just demand the same price next season..... and I doubt City will pay that for a guy that's 29 next year.

Kane is stuck for three years at a club he does not want to be at.

Not having a release clause comes with other benefits. Like higher wages or bonuses. It's not like Levy would agree to a lowball clause anyway. He had the upper hand at that time with Kane keen to stay and the club being in good place.

He obviously wasn't prepared to go to the lengths necessary to get himself out of there. It's a real shame. Another wasted season, and the guy could conceivably end up without having won anything in his entire career.

Knew he would stay.

Yeah but you said that about Grealish.

I don't even know why journalists and papers give the Kane transfer stuff the time of day. Every summer it's City or it's United, hell even Real Madrid was getting touted a few years ago.

This is such a weird misrepresentation of reality. He came out and said that he wanted to leave, he didn't turn up to training, a club was openly trying to sign him for big money. We've never seen anything like this with regard to Kane before.

How is it a weird misrepresentation of reality exactly? He gets linked with a move away every season yet Daniel Levy never entertains it. He didn’t turn up to training, so what?

It took him about 2 days and he was back training anyway.

The end result is still him staying at Spurs.

There has never been a situation like this between Spurs and Kane. Some random paper talk every summer is not the same as Kane announcing that he wants to leave and a club openly bidding to take him somewhere he wants to go.

I'm not saying Kane himself didn't want to leave though? He has probably toyed with the idea several times before without it going this far in terms of his professionalism being questioned with regard to skipping training. He already claimed that he never refused or never would refuse to train though so he didn't really push it as much as he could.

But you're also dealing with Daniel Levy here. A notoriously difficult negotiator and despite all the noise, the end result is the same, he stays.

Unfortunately signing that contract back in 2018 sealed Kane's fate. But I think all the variables included, it makes a Kane transfer always very unlikely.

Kane has had plenty opportunity to win a trophy but not put in the performance to do it. I know UCL final he was back from a big injury and Liverpool were far superior. He was still there though. Euros final, 0 goal threat. He's had league cup and was there an FA cup final too or maybe not. Point being as a player he's had several finals and won none.

He’s been very lethargic for the best part of the year. Looks miles off even getting a shot on goal let alone a goal itself.

Absolute shite. So are basically the whole Spurs team apart from Romero and, to a lesser extent, Son and Ndombele.
