Good players play and Afellay is versatile enough that there isn't an aspect of this transfer that has a downside really...Even the La Masia argument isn't very convincing as I am certain Thiago still gets promoted and will play

Nolito and/or Jeffren are the only losers in this...And at this point, it's a smart move to give Ibi a shot to do what no one else has yet on that left wing with any consistency

And we also have Thiago for that midfield spot.... the team is just much less thin now, because Afellay can play on so many positions. He can be a replacement for: Pedro, Messi, Xavi AND Iniesta. And I can see him getting a starting 11 spot ahead of Pedro if all goes well.
