Ibrahim Diarra

He had a good chance to score from ball over top but game too boring and switched it off.

Just seen him have a couple of nice touches.

If the club sees him hot prospect then need to bring deeper and get him much more on the ball.

Feels like Gavi under Xavi this game. Pushed up off the striker area and hardly involved.

Poor game so far, can't judge him.

I think our best talents are all suffering from poor coaching this season.

Every touch is smooth af. Could have had two goals, but otherwise, this is the Diarra I have been waiting to see.

Popped on my feed, the debut of Makalou for Brest in Ligue1. I know a few of us really liked him (@Messi983) in the U17 Mali side and wanted him signed along with Diarra.

Looks way undersized in this clip, without the speed or technique to overcome it. But early days.

I was just thinking about Makalou around a month ago and was surprised to see he was still playing in Mali at that time. Just signed a contract with Brest few days ago and then the next day made his debut. No idea if he trained with them for a few weeks before signing a contract but would asssume so.

Will def keep an eye on him and also Sekou Kone at United (he's been on the bench for them a few times but not played yet; expect that to happen before end of the season though with their injury problems).

The way Diarra even moves in those highlights he is playing with far more freedom and confidence.

Flowing like a young Ousmane Dembele on some of those clips.. without the same extreme pace.

More mobile than has looked previously.

Type of player that could go on tour in summer and be used in first team quickly if Flick likes sees. Has the physicality for it.

Olmo better what out.

Not saying anything new here, but he was one of the 3 standout players at the U17 WC.

Fifa regulations held back his development while the other two had better opportunities to grow in South America.

If not for that he would have definitely started in the B team, but with how they are playing right now that wouldn't have helped him much.

He's probably 12-18 months behind in his development curve because he couldn't leave mali sooner.

But the talent and physicality is obviously there.

They'll probably do with him, what Europeans do with all black midfielders that are prettying good, turn him into a box to box midfielder.

Which could suit him.
