It does. Getting back to winning with Ronnie was awesome. Even more cathartic was city fans winning the league I don't know how many years later, when they invaded the pitch. That must have been really awesome.

+1

Roma scudetto in 2001 was crazy for their fans also. They won it after 18 years of waiting.

Roma played at home versus Parma in the last round, and they needed a victory to win a championship.
The atmosphere on stadium was crazy.
Italian commentators were crazy after each Goal scored (at 3:20 in this video, for example, lol, it's insane)
When the match ended, all fans from the whole Olimpico entered the field.

It is much more fun to be a fan and win something after years of waiting, and when you are with your team even in bad periods.

There are many Messi fans, as cr fans, that follow the player, not the team. Not that unusual. A friend of my parents is a romario nutter. In so he has jerseys from vasco, flamengo and fluminense. That's like having Barça, rm and atletico shirts :p

If Messi leaves before he is at least 33, I'll be devastated, but Barça is my club.

The no voters are the ones who just sympathize with Barca anyway, and there aren't as many as I expected. Maybe some started supporting us because of Messi, but along the way they realised Barca means much more than one player.

Of course ill be supporting Barca, but I have a feeling it won't be the same. This is mainly because when I have started following Barcelona (since Ronaldinho) Messi has had just too big of an impact. I don't know it's weird. Still Barca will always be #1.

Interesting poll, i've been asking myself that and I'm not ashamed to say I probably won't follow Barça as much as I do now if Messi leaves, he's the reason I started following football in the first place, amazing unique player that never dives.. once in a lifetime player really.

Being a football fan is hard, it stresses me a lot, especially once you get really involved in the club's life and follow everyday news, forums and such, so much animosity/racism/violence everywhere like people's lives depended on it, I most of the time hate everything related to football until I watch Messi play, and to some extent Pep's Barça that was an absolute delight to watch.

May be some other wonderfull player/team will come along that i'd like as much as I like Messi but I highly doubt it, Neymar is amazing, but he dives too, and I have no respect for players that dive, as simple as that, others are arrogant/stupid twats, Messi is unique by his humility too, if he was ever as arrogant as CR7 i wouldn't have liked him even if he's great.

As much as I am a HUGE Messi fan (or fanboy), if he leaves Barca, I wish him the best and I will continue to respect him as a great footballer, but I will not like him as much as I do today and I will stop following him (figuratively, of course ). Whether he plays good or not, whether he beats Ronaldo or not, I won't care any more.

^this.

Well this poll is certainly an eye opener as to whom we have on the forums :messi:

Barça til I die.

Hello Mehdi. We should have signed your namesake Mehdi Benatia in summer, but unfortunately we ended up with Vermaelen who won't be available for us until the end of the season, or next season.

This forum is not just for ultras, it is for all Barca fans and fans of other teams too.

I'm just joking a bit, about all the comments talking about the people that voted "no" as if they were spies or somehow fake barça fans :)

You can't say Barça with Messi on the pitch VS Barça without Messi is the same thing; who would make the magic happen ? hehehe

No Barca without Leo isn't the same thing. But it is still Barca. We survived before him and we'll survive after him. I'm a Barca fan first and a Messi fan second. Don't mind if someone else is different.

Supporting a football team because of a particular player... that's what I was getting at, not spies. It's fickle.

You can't call yourself a supporter of a team if you don't actually support the team - i.e. not supporting the team because a player leaves. You support the player, not the team.

My comment was in gest to the people saying they wouldn't support Barça if Messi left or if he chooses to retire with us. Doesn't mean people aren't welcome.
