Wolfe is the consummate spinner, even trying to justify benching a World & 2 time European Cup champ like Casillas...for Adán, no less...You lot have really lost the plot

Mourinho just got himself into trouble, Iker is a good guy, one of the best GK in the world. Have you seen Victor Valdes? Should we play Pinto instead? Every keeper makes mistakes, Iker is one Madra player you just don't bench.

Now go deal with the loss to Malaga you lame excuse for a coach. :mou:

I'm sorry Casillas, I'm sorry...

Right up there with Messi, Xavi as my favorite players in the world, so sad to see him benched for no reason...

To those people saying he's let in easy goals, it's only because he's set the standard so high; he hasn't been too bad, just not Iker mode this season. A quiet talk and more training during the winter break would have been the way to go for Mou, but this...

I don't think he was being benched because he is any way worse than Adan. I think this was just a game Mou was confident of winning and he wanted to give Casillas a kick up his backside. Besides, I do watch Real matches and the Madridistas are definitely not deluded - he has been really below par this season. Benching him was just a warning shot to prove that he is not indispensable. He did the same with Ramos, replacing him with Varane against Man City no less. And Ramos came back a much more focussed and better player.

Too bad it didn't work out this time.

Iker is a class act and more to the point, the greatest winning goalkeeper currently playing on the planet...when not a substitute ;)

It's a hostile act to bench a WC & 2 time European Cup holder who has been your Captain and 1st choice keeper for more than a decade...This is not an issue of a player getting or not getting his way, it's an astonishing example of a club's icon being trashed by a rent-a-manager with no respect for the legacy of those who have given everything to the club...First Valdano and now Iker

More than Mou, Perez should be kicked to the curb for letting this go on

I wouldn't say he is being particularly classy in staging a coupe against his manager and team mates. Yeah Mou, Cron and Pepe may be classless themselves, but the last time Madrid let their Madrileño captain become all-powerful in Raul, it set the club back a decade. Not a precedent to be repeated with Casillas I would have thought.

What coup do you suggest is or has been going on?...A champion and club icon who has been a Madridista since he was a kid or a manager who is a rent-a-manager?

If anyone is undermining the club it's you know who

Quite obviously the manager has to have the authority over the dressing room, not any single player. So while he may well be a long serving and decorated captain, its certainly not in his clubs interest for him to be undermining his manager and team mates in the way he is. He's as much to blame for the mess Madrid is in right now as Mou.

You're making an assumption that Iker is the single authority or that he is undermining other players in the squad, nevermind ignoring Ramos altogether...Moreover, ignoring the reality that Mou has no one but himself to blame for the lack of a cohesive locker room - that is the manager's role...If the Special One can't accomplish that then how is that the players fault, particularly a winner & club legend like Iker for not agreeing to play the games that sully the club's reputation in the first place?

Casillas is as much to blame as Mou for their mess? ..You're taking the piss while making excuses for Mou - with zero facts on how Iker is somehow responsible in any way/shape/form, Sergio
