Iker Casillas

Are you confused again? You do realize in damn near the same sentence you have defended Iker by saying he has no single authority, then gone on to say its his position as club's legendary captain to undermine his manager. Completely contradictory of course, I think you need to have a sit down and decide exactly what your point is, because right now you are all over the place.

Perhaps your comprehension skills are absent, Sergio...Saying Iker is a club legend does not equate to being a single authority - it merely is stating a fact, unless you can prove otherwise...Meanwhile, claiming Casillas is responsible for a coup much less undermining other squad players or being equally culpable as Mou is entirely devoid of fact - it's meandering speculation

Valdano on Cadena SER:

"Mourinho has a peculiar relationship with his squad but this is really upping the stakes," he told Cadena SER.

"This was a show of power; he was wielding his authority on a club legend."

Mourinho claimed that the decision was due to the impression Adan had made on him, but the Argentine feels the former Chelsea boss was punishing the team.

"I imagine it was a technical decision, that he trusted a lot in Adan's ability, because it doesn't make sense to bring disciplinary decisions into the starting line-up," he added.

"If you do that, you punish the team. It was a big decision and I imagine he had thought about it for a long time, even though I don't know the true reasons behind it."

Calm down dear, last time you got all agitated like that, it resulted in a rather ugly racist tirade from you that had to be deleted. No one wants to see a spectacle like that again, thank you.

The point is rather clear and comprehensible. A player, any player, undermining their manager is not to the benefit of their club. Casillas has been ring leader of a group of Madrid players seeking to have him removed. Whether he should be is not the issue, the issue is that is not for them to decide or put into place. So yes, the mess Madrid are in is due to their internal fighting, and that is as much the fault of both parties. Now it seems Casillas will get his way all the quicker, more than fine by me, but Madrid have to be wary of putting a single player on a pedestal like that, it failed badly last time.

Honey, you are the one without much in the way of any cohesive argument...But sure, divert the discussion by bringing up irrelevant arguments that can't even be engaged anyway - well done

Again, doll face, you have yet to come up with an iota of evidence that would support your claim that Iker has undermined Mou or that he's the ringleader of anything other than perhaps some fantasy in your head

Unlike you, I like to stick to facts...And the facts demonstrate who is culpable, not innuendo and conjecture - that's a fool's errand, are you a fool?

Simply a bit of friendly advice, no one likes to see people in their senior years behave without dignity.

Even more simply put, what facts? I haven't seen a single fact from you, now that you mention it. Then again I also haven't seen a consistent argument, you started with Iker being some irresistable, iconic figure who cannot be ignored, now he is just a player who has no authority who hasn't done anything.

Yeah, friends like you, who needs enemies right?...Perhaps when you mature out of your adolescent behaviour you'll see the value of logic rather than running with baseless innuendo - still waiting for all that evidence you have attempted to divert with potshots

Iker is a club legend, it's a fact...Ask a Madridista, ask another club legend in Valdano (Quoted, btw)...Otherwise, none of what I concluded has been based on innuendo/rumour...Shame you can't say the same, dear

I don't like Mourinho myself, but I don't get why everybody is making such a big deal out of this situation..Iker has been poor this year(with the exception of the EC-strangely or not) and a coach should have the power to bench whoever he likes. I wouldn't want to see at Barcelona that Tito can't bench Puyol or Xavi if he feels they're not on the same page with him(and by the way our cpt was also on the bench last night, but I don't see anyone ssuggesting that it was because he's having a fall-out with Roura).
The problem is that it was Adan the one who played instead of Iker and I wouldn't say that he was an upgrade. So unless RM buys a better GK in the winter break, I think that Mou can't afford to keep Casillas on the bench.

Proof is on the pitch. Watch the games, vs Valencia, City and others. So many goals you can put on his tally. Not even questionable.

Whether he has an agenda with Mourinho is another story. He was still poor on the pitch.

Pepe was also poor this season(apart from the game against Sevilla, if I'm not mistaken) and yet there he is, continuing to play every minute(unlike Ramos or Casillas). So you can't say that only the performances on the pitch are influencing Mou when he takes these decisions. But like I said, he's the coach and he's allowed to do what he wants, even if that means benching a WC & 2 time European Cup holder.

Iker is a class act and more to the point, the greatest winning goalkeeper currently playing on the planet...when not a substitute ;)

Nobody disputed Iker's legend status, except you when you said he had no singular authority.

What I disputed was the right he has to select his manager and team mates. Evidently you agree with that, which is wrong.

I saw the second half of the second half of the Malaga game and I dont think Iker would have made a huge difference for the last 2 goals . I saw the first goal malaga did in replay and that one i think Iker may have had a chance on and I guess that could have changed the picture of the part of the game i didn't see.
I know, a messy post but i want to know what the Madristas think of the Aldan (or whatever the keeper is called) performance in the game and if Iker would have made any difference?

Again, you would not bench the best player of the formation. Hypothetically, if Messi was on a 10 match goal drought, you'd still not bench him, because you'd know he is quality.
