Yeah, don't know where that claim came from Deco20.:)

But well it's true that Trezeguet's father was born in Argentina but the latter was also a French-Argentine and the Trezeguet surname is of French origin.

So Trezeguet is not only of French origin on both sides of the family but he is also born in France. If that does not make him French then nobody is of French origin.

Zidane was born in French but is of Berber origin (Berbers are actually mixed with Latin peoples (French, Italians, Spanish etc.)

But well, French people are a mixture of Romans, Celts, Iberians, Ligurians, Greeks, different Germanic peoples such as Franks, Burgundians and then Arabs, Moors and Saracens. Normans and Vikings (in the north) were also present.

In fact I can't think of a more mixed European ethnicity than French people.

Eh, I forgot Basques, the Swiss, Breton people, Corsicans, Occitanians and Catalans.

The conclusion is that nobody is pure (Certainly not French) and those people who don't know their ancestry would be surprised of how mixed they are as virtually everyone else is - in Europe and the Americas at least.

I don't know much about Jorge Trezeguet but considering he's from Argentina, I highly doubt he's "pure" French, unless his parents were ambassadors or something.

No idea why you guys are even debating this, the moment Trez missed his penalty in the WC I was sure he is as Argentinian as they get.

Well he was born in France, his father is a French-Argentine, his surname is French and his mother is of French origin.

I never said that he is "pure French". Rather the opposite since I took some time to specify that French people are highly mixed themselves (the most in Europe probably) and that nobody is "pure" French or pure anything else, especially in Europe and the "New World".

True, but he also scored this beauty:

Anyway look out for Munain tonight. I have a bad feeling of him running riot against us.
